Everyday I’m reminded of just how powerful my job is 🤎
Yesterday I watched a 13 year old girl completely change right in front of my eyes. As soon as I turned the chair around her eyes lit up and she became more talkative than she had the entire appointment. She kept saying how much she loved her hair and she couldn’t stop looking at herself in the mirror.
Little moments like that remind me why I chose this career in the first place 😭
It’s so easy to think that being a hairstylist is just about hair. The color, the cut, the extensions, etc. Sometimes it’s so much more than that. Sometimes it’s giving someone a little boost of confidence. Sometimes it’s helping someone see themselves differently. Sometimes it’s being part of a moment they’ll remember for a really long time
Watching her confidence change in just a few seconds reminded me that what we do in the beauty industry matters. 🤎
I hope she knows that she left my chair not only loving her hair, but feeling a little more confident in herself. And I feel so lucky that I get to be a small part of moments like that🥹🤎
Hair is so much more than hair. And I’ll never stop being grateful that I get to make people feel good about themselves for a living!!
