God doesn’t waste anything either.
Our tears, our heartache, the broken cracks and crevices, the fatigue and weariness, the heavy burdens, even the regrets and “garbage” we’d be tempted to throw away and forget.
Romans 8:28 “and we know that in ALL things, God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” (Emphasis mine)
All things.
Try inserting your “waste” into that verse.
“And I know that in _________________,
God works for the good…”
It’s been quiet here for the last couple of months.
I needed to step back and just live. I needed to just be the midlife mom homeschooling a child with autism, and navigating all the changes that come with this season of life.
If you’re here, you probably know the feeling of being stretched thin, of managing so much that you feel unseen in your own life. I’ve spent years sharing how I navigate that, both in my main posts and in stories.
And in the quiet, I realized the most important part of my story was the one I wasn’t making central. The actual foundation for how I get through the day, how I find peace when I’m overwhelmed, and how I find the strength to keep going.
My faith in Christ.
It’s the anchor for everything. It’s what has sustained me through Lyme disease, perimenopause, and the unique challenges of motherhood and special needs parenting.
So from now on, that’s the lens for everything I’ll share. We’ll still talk about living within your capacity, managing your home, and caring for yourself. But we’ll do it with faith at the very center of the conversation.
I’m glad to be back. ♥️
Really wanted to go thrifting today despite some fatigue, and was about to push through but my body is giving me the stank eye.
I’d better listen. Lol.
(Yes, I purposely typed STANK, not stink 🤣).

Living within your limits means you build a deeper trust with your body and your own rhythm.

It wasn’t obvious at the time. I thought I was being responsible.
Like following through.
Like doing what needed to be done.
But there was always this quiet back-and-forth happening underneath it:
“I can still do this.”
“It’s fine.”
“Just one more thing.”
And most of the time… I could.
That’s what made it so easy to ignore.
Nothing was dramatically wrong. But over time, I started to notice something:
I wasn’t actually listening to myself.
I was convincing myself.
And there’s a difference.
Canceling things used to feel like I was being careless.
Now it feels like I’m being honest.

Decluttering. Simplifying. Getting everything under control.
But looking back… I wasn’t actually letting go.
I was just gripping something different.

not just physically… but in every part of my life.
what I take on
what I commit to
what I allow in
I’m not carrying more than I can actually hold anymore.

I used to chase that feeling.
Trying to prove myself.
Trying to be seen.
Thinking if I just did enough, someone would finally acknowledge it.
But even when they did… it never lasted.
Now when that feeling comes up, I separate it from what I know is true.
I’m not invisible.
And the growth it took to get here?
I see it, but most importantly, God sees it and He’s always seen me.
That’s enough.
There’s nothing to show for it.
No visible progress. No proof.
Just a decision…not to override myself.
