Years ago, I’d spend 3 or 4 evenings a week right here, mesmerized. I watched this “mammoth” of a machine, the function so purely on volunteer spirit. I was just an observer then, wondering how a community driven model could have so much heart.
I didn’t know it then, but this very Coop would place our first ever retail order. That was the day the Pure Mitti retail journey truly began.
Business isn’t built on transactions; it’s built on trust and the simple act of giving.
Seeing our dish bars and totes in the hands of Brooklynites, in the same aisles I used to volunteer…. it’s a full-circle moment I’ll never forget. A heartfelt throwback to the place that turned my vision into a reality.

Every home has that one product you end up reaching for again and again. For us, it turned out to be the Basil Dish Bar.

I grew up watching my grandmother mix fresh turmeric root with her hands… no powders, no acids, nothing that burned.
Just a simple ritual that kept her skin calm and bright.
So when I saw women reacting to those “turmeric” kojic-acid bars all over social media… it broke my heart. Turmeric upon extended use does produce skin glow. There is no need to add extra kojic acid to give the extra glow and eventually burn skin.
