A lot of the time when makeup doesn’t sit right, it’s not because of the product, it’s because the skin underneath wasn’t prepped in a way that supports it.
I always start with skin first, adjusting hydration, texture, and what your skin actually needs that day, so the makeup doesn’t just look good initially but continues to sit well over time.
It’s a much more subtle approach, but it’s what makes everything feel lighter, more natural, and more like you.
If you want to understand what works specifically for your skin and your features, you can start with a Beauty Refresh session or book a complimentary 15 minute consultation through the link in my bio.
I often see makeup being applied on skin that hasn’t been properly prepped, where moisturizer is either skipped, rushed, or not given enough time to settle. Then foundation goes on top, and it starts to sit on the surface instead of blending into the skin.
This is when makeup can look dry around the cheeks, uneven around the nose, or heavier under the eyes as the day goes on.
What makes the difference is slowing this step down. Using the right amount of hydration for your skin, pressing it in properly, and letting it absorb before moving on.
It’s not about adding more products, it’s about allowing your skin to be ready for what comes next.
When hydration is right, everything else starts to work the way it should.
AI can talk about beauty. It can’t see it the way a makeup artist does.
You don’t need another eyeliner. You can turn a powder shadow into a long wearing liner with the right products.
I used Finish Line with a fine liner brush from and the Dark Brown shadow from .
Save this before you buy something new.
A good concealer brush should help the product melt into the skin, not push it around or leave it sitting on top. When the brush is right, you use less product, you blend less, and everything looks calmer and more natural.
This is one of those small choices that makes a big difference. When the brush works with you, concealer stops feeling like something you have to fix all day and starts doing its job quietly.
