🇭🇹 HAITI ON THE RUNWAY: WAINA CHANCY × ATELIER NDIGO

As New York Fashion Week unfolds, House of Bo***ir is turning its lens toward Haitian creatives taking their work to bigger stages, broader audiences and influential fashion platforms.

We begin with Haitian designer Waïna Chancy, co-founder along side Myrline St. Hubert and creative force behind Atelier Ndigo, who presented her Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Harlem’s Fashion Row’s 19th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards on September 8 at The Glasshouse in New York.

This year’s HFR theme, “Peace by Piece,” created an especially meaningful backdrop for Chancy’s collection—one she describes as:

“A love letter to Haiti through every stitch.” 🇭🇹

Chancy was one of three designers selected for HFR’s inaugural Runway Ahead Designer Fellowship, created with the PVH Foundation and ICON360. The opportunity goes beyond the runway, providing designers with mentorship and resources across design, finance, sourcing, merchandising, production, marketing and public relations.

For Atelier Ndigo, the runway revealed sculptural silhouettes, thoughtful craftsmanship and cultural and architectural influences—allowing Haitian identity to speak through design rather than simply being referenced by it.

“Year after year, twenty-something women come to New York City in search of the two L’s: labels and love.” — Carrie Bradshaw 🖤

And every September, fashion gives them another reason to come.

The shows. The streets. The style. The energy.
New York Fashion Week has arrived.

BTS | HER POWER IS IN HER SILENCE.

Styling a woman whose power doesn’t need an introduction.

There are women who command a room with their voices—and then there are women whose silence speaks before they ever say a word.

With Marthe Joseph the assignment was to dress that quiet power.

Strong silhouettes. Feminine details. A touch of drama. Elegance without trying too hard. Every element chosen to complement the woman rather than overpower her.

Because true style isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s the way she stands.
The way she looks at you.
The confidence she carries.
The things she chooses not to say.

Her presence is the statement. Her silence is the power.
