Originally from Grenada 🇬🇩, moved to New York City, Michelle Charles left the busy city life for the peace and joy of country living. She and her family, including two homeschooled children who now work at our locally loved Dutch Maid Bakery, lived for seven years in Alabama, and moved to Tracy City TN in 2021.

How did she come to soap making? She writes, “I never thought I would be selling soaps but after my negative reaction with commercial soaps, (due to my sensitive skin and my daughter’s eczema) I tried a homemade soap and seeing the positive results, decided to make my own. I made and gave samples to many friends and family, in hope to just make for my family needs. However, with much encouragement from so many people, I began making more and more soaps. While there are other products I enjoy making, soap making has become my first love and greatest need in my family. Now I hope to encourage others to care for their skin, while enjoying the many joys of nature in natural and organic handcrafted soaps.”
