Sundays are my favorite day for self care. For me this day is a chance to reset before my new week begins. As a makeup artist, it's essential for me to be camera-ready whenever I'm onset, regardless of the time – whether it's 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, or even 5 am. Clients nowadays want behind-the-scenes footage of their special events, be it weddings, photoshoots, proms or birthdays. It's part of the Hollywood experience and a vision my clients have held since booking the Makeupkween Beauty Experience. You might ask, "why should it matter if it's their shot?" but let me tell you, it does matter. If you hate the shot, that's the one that'll get posted. I never want to be in the position of saying, "I didn't have a chance to do my makeup" once the cameras start rolling. Someone said women over 40 shouldn't wear shimmer! Well, I'm debunking that myth with this Lightwork Experience III Palette. I used the shade Sol and Solar Rain to create this look for the Buy Black event last month. Flashing back to this yellow comic book look I did for my client . Laura and I begin curating hair and makeup looks several weeks prior to the event. I like to have the inspiration photos ahead of time because it gives me a chance to grab any special items that I may need to achieve the look. In this case, I knew that I needed to dig into my beauty closet and grab my color fix in the shade yellow 💛 and my Beauty Mario Palette for that gorgeous blue shade. 💙 I love using layers when creating colorful looks. Applying a cream base first gives the shadow something to grab onto, and the two different textures help to create dimension. Finally, I grabbed a soft orange shade from the Ace Beaute Nostalogia Palette and finished with my favorite gel liner from inglot. This look was one of my favorites to create and I am looking forward to creating even more coloful looks this year!
