“GIVE YOURSELF GRACE” remember this please🙏🏻

PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE YOU JUDGE 🙏🏻

To the people who think they know what it’s like to raise an autistic child…

You don’t.

And that’s okay.

But what isn’t okay is judging parents who are living a life you know nothing about.

Autism doesn’t clock out at the end of the day. Neither do we.

We don’t get to stop worrying. We don’t get to stop watching. We don’t get to take our eyes off our children—not even for a moment sometimes.

We’re constantly thinking about their safety.

Will they elope?
Will they eat something because of pica?
Will they understand danger?
Will they sleep tonight?
Will they be overwhelmed in this environment?
How can I make today easier for them?

Our minds never stop.

Behind the scenes, we’re researching therapies, learning new strategies, reading studies, attending appointments, fighting insurance, advocating in schools, modifying our homes with cameras, door alarms, locks, and safety equipment, all while trying to be the best parents we can be.

Some of us are running on little sleep. Some of our children don’t nap. Some wake throughout the night. We keep going anyway because our children need us.

People see the hard moments.

We see every moment.

The laughter.
The fear.
The progress.
The setbacks.
The tears.
The milestones that the world may never notice but that mean everything to us.

This journey changes you. It teaches patience, resilience, humility, and a kind of unconditional love that’s hard to put into words.

So before you criticize an autism parent, remember that you’re seeing a chapter—not the whole story.

Choose compassion over judgment.
Choose understanding over assumptions.

And to my fellow autism parents: I know how heavy this journey can feel. I also know the fierce love that keeps us moving forward every single day. We may be exhausted, but we are raising incredible children, and that is something to be proud of.

We’re not asking for pity.

We’re asking for understanding. 💙🧩 ❤️likefollowme 💙

If you don’t live the autism parent life, then respectfully… stop telling autism parents how to parent.

You see a few minutes. We live it 24/7.

You don’t see the constant research, the endless appointments, the sleepless nights, the emotional exhaustion, the victories we celebrate that others might never understand, or the weight we carry every single day.

This isn’t just about sensory issues or being nonverbal. Autism is so much more than the labels people hear.

We’re constantly thinking about our child’s safety. Some autistic children elope. Some have pica and may eat things that aren’t food. Some have no awareness of danger. That means our minds never truly rest. We’re always scanning, always watching, always protecting. Cameras in the house. Door alarms. Safety locks. Special equipment. Planning every outing. Thinking ten steps ahead because one second can change everything.

We’re moms. We’re dads. We’re nurses, therapists, teachers, advocates, investigators, crisis managers, and protectors—all while trying to hold ourselves together and still show up for our other children, our jobs, our homes, and life.

There are no breaks. Some of our children don’t nap. Some don’t sleep through the night. Many of us are running on love, determination, and pure exhaustion.

Before you judge an autism parent because our child is having a meltdown, stimming, not speaking, running, or struggling, remember this: you’re seeing one moment. We’re living every moment.

So instead of criticizing us, try supporting us. Instead of assuming, ask questions. Instead of judging, show compassion.

To every autism parent out there—I see you. I know how heavy this journey can be. I also know how beautiful our children are. We’ll keep fighting, keep learning, keep advocating, and keep loving them with everything we have.

Because this isn’t just a diagnosis.

It’s our life. 💙🧩 ❤️likefollowme 💙

I’m walking away from physical, mental, and financial abuse—and I’m walking toward peace.

Today, I choose healing. I choose freedom. I choose a life where my children and I can finally breathe, smile, and live without fear.

As a full-time mom and dad, every decision I make is for them. They are my reason to keep moving forward, to keep chasing my dreams, and to become the strongest, healthiest version of myself.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but it has made me stronger. My past does not define me—my resilience does.

Here’s to peace, new beginnings, breaking generational cycles, and building the life my children deserve. One day at a time, we’re moving forward together. ❤️✨

Madi shirt says “I may be nonverbal but my mama ain’t remember that “

Those words couldn’t be more true.

I will forever be my daughter’s voice until she finds her own. I will be her advocate, her protector, and her biggest supporter. I’ll speak for her in every room, stand up for her when she needs me, and make sure this world sees the incredible little girl that I see every single day.

I truly believe God trusted me with her for a reason. She didn’t come into my life to break me—she came to transform me. She has humbled me, softened my heart, strengthened my faith, and taught me a kind of unconditional love I never knew existed.

This journey isn’t always easy. There are hard days, exhausting days, and moments that test every part of me. But there are also victories that most people never get to witness—small moments that feel absolutely huge, quiet moments filled with love, and a bond that words could never fully describe.

I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Autism didn’t take anything away from my daughter. It gave me a new perspective on love, patience, resilience, and celebrating every milestone, no matter how small it may seem to others.

Madison, you have brought so much peace, purpose, and joy into our family. You have changed your brothers and me for the better and taught us so much. You remind us every day that progress isn’t measured by how loud someone’s voice is, but by the love they bring into the lives around them.

I will always be your safe place. I will always believe in you. I will always fight for you. And until the day you choose to tell the world your story in your own way, I’ll proudly be your voice.

Forever your mama. Forever your advocate. Forever your biggest fan. 💙🧩 ❤️likefollowme 💙
