LA Lifestyle Blog
GlowGetter tips + tricks
Beauty | Style | Wellness | Travel The format is simple. What do I do in my "free" time?
I decided to launch a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog after many years of experience as a taste-maker and lifestyle expert in the media business. First it was AskMelissa, then PageDaily and now my blog which is something very personal and special to me. I post a daily image followed by small tidbits of information. Many posts will offer valuable tips and product picks. I am a lover of art and nature and will share images of people, places, and things that will inspire you. I will also make product suggestions that are useful and will save you time researching what is best. My passion has always been to share my discoveries with other women to enhance their every day life. Whether it's advice on what new bag to buy and how to wear it, where to go on vacation, selecting the perfect lipstick, or trying the most effective workouts, think of me as your new best friend! I have over 10 years of experience as a lifestyle expert and appeared on TV as contributor for NBC’s Today Show and Weekend Today in New York, New York Live, Better.TV, Fox’s Good Day New York, and others. I love interviewing celebrities on the red carpet, sharing my gift guides and offering tips on my favorite fashion, beauty and lifestyle products. I am also an OpenSky insider with close to 300,000 followers. I have also been featured in and written for several online and traditional print publications, including People StyleWatch and Hamptons Magazine. PageDaily, my online lifestyle magazine has now become an archive and offers a wealth of information for the best in beauty, fashion and living. Check out its "insider" celebrity and expert tips, tricks and product pick through articles, interviews, and videos. I graduated from Syracuse University and started my career as an Associate Director in the Marketing Department of Bear Stearns planning national and international conferences and events. I was definitely an anomaly there with my short skirts, high heels and face of make-up. I always had a love for journalism and did lots of writing, editing, and proof-reading while at the firm. As a hobby, I was blogging about my favorite restaurants and places to go in NYC. After having children, I realized that Wall Street was not my calling and started AskMelissa, a lifestyle resource and newsletter. I am a big believer that leading a happy life is about finding something you are passionate about and sharing it with others. Balance and surrounding yourself with quality people are so important too. Besides eating yummy meals with my husband, children and close friends, I love spending time outside. I enjoy tennis, horseback riding, hiking, spinning, skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding at the beach (relocating to LA from NYC was a dream come true). My husband is extremely supportive of me and all my endeavors, and we have two amazing teenage children and an adorable shih tzu, Cinnamon. I am so excited to share all my best-kept fashion, beauty and lifestyle secrets with you. I hope you enjoy my personally curated blog and look forward to your comments!
At 61, I’m learning that enjoying every year also means giving myself grace through the changes. 🤍
On World Menopause Day, I want to share this reminder: you can love your age and still have days when you don’t feel like yourself.
For every woman navigating this chapter:
⭐ You don’t have to love every change to love yourself.
⭐ You can be grateful and still be struggling.
⭐ You deserve support, answers and care.
⭐ Rest doesn’t have to be earned.
⭐ Your beauty has room to evolve.
⭐ There is still so much ahead to look forward to.
Being a pro-aging advocate doesn’t mean I have it all figured out. I have hard days, too. But I want to keep making plans, trying new things and finding moments that make me feel like me.
I’m not trying to turn back the clock. I’m trying to enjoy every year—and that includes being kinder to myself along the way.
Which reminder did you need most today?
Save this for a day when you need a little encouragement, and share it with a woman who could use the reminder. 😊

9 new skincare finds I’m loving at 61! ✨ My latest Substack shares what earned a spot on my shelf—and why. Read the full edit at the link in my bio! ✨
After more than 25 years as a beauty editor, I’m selective about what makes it into my regular rotation. From rich moisturizers and silky serums to an eye treatment and everyday SPF, these nine have earned my Glow Girl Certified seal of approval.
What wins me over? Beautiful textures, lasting hydration, little to no fragrance, and noticeable benefits. I love a formula that leaves my skin feeling nourished and looking radiant—and expensive doesn’t always mean better.
What do you look for most in skincare: hydration, firming or glow? Let me know below! 🤍

My formula for the perfect timeless fall look: a camel blazer, great denim and suede brown booties. 💙🤎
I love how a blazer pulls everything together—even a simple pair of jeans. Classic, easy to wear and just polished enough for wherever the day takes me. Do you have great basics in your wardrobe?
Blazer: L'AGENCE
Top: Minnie Rose
Jeans: AGOLDE
Booties: Favorite Daughter
Belt: Bottega Veneta
A little adventure, a little indulgence—that’s my kind of vacation. ✨
Between coastal hikes and exploring Portugal’s Algarve, I made time for a Sisley facial at Vila Vita Parc. A chance to slow down, enjoy some pampering and give my skin a little extra attention.
I love weaving wellness into my travels, and an afternoon at the spa was a lovely complement to our days outdoors.
Are you a spa-on-vacation girl, too?

On World Mental Health Day, I’m sharing a few moments from my weekend at Canyon Ranch as a Canyon Ranch Voices ambassador.
Taking care of ourselves includes how we feel on the inside. 🤍 At 61, my approach to aging well includes caring for my emotional well-being alongside my physical health. Making time to slow down, connect with others and check in with myself is something I’m learning to prioritize.
That’s part of what draws me to Canyon Ranch—the thoughtful, holistic approach to feeling your best, and the opportunity to bring that perspective into everyday life.
Today is also a reminder to check in on someone you love, make space for honest conversations and reach for support when you need it. We all deserve to feel heard and supported.
What helps you feel grounded? I’d love to hear. 🤍

I love to travel—and having a few go-to favorites makes packing for every getaway so much easier. ✈️
I’m sharing what I wear, pack and love in my latest Substack post, My Travel Favorites. Read the full edit through the link in my bio!
My airport uniform starts with rag & bone sweatpant jeans and a buttery-soft Splendid bamboo tee, styled with a leather jacket, scarf and comfortable sneakers. Polished enough for arrival, comfy enough for the flight!
In my bag? Travel-sized beauty favorites from Innersense and OneSkin, plus a hanging toiletry organizer that keeps everything visible and easy to reach. Add stylish luggage and my Jouer weekender for those extra essentials, and I’m ready to go.
These are the pieces I reach for trip after trip—and they’re all rounded up on Substack to help you pack for your next adventure. 🤍
What’s one thing you never travel without?
