Tonight, all across the country, millions of people will stop what they’re doing… and they’ll look up.
Children.
Grandparents.
Neighbors.
Strangers.
For a few breathtaking moments, we’ll all be united by the same thing.
Light.
Have you ever wondered why we’re so drawn to it?
We gather around campfires.
We pause for sunsets.
We light candles to celebrate.
We search the night sky for stars.
And tonight…
We’ll wait for fireworks to transform the darkness.
Maybe it’s because light reminds us of something we’ve always known.
That even the smallest light is never intimidated by the darkest night.
Darkness doesn’t argue with light.
It simply disappears.
One flame changes an entire room.
One sunrise ends the longest night.
One act of kindness can change the direction of someone’s day… and sometimes, the direction of their life.
