Hypothyroid Weight Loss Update: I’m down 1 pound from last week! 💪🏻
I’ve been stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks, so I’m so happy that I went down a full pound this week! I made a small change in my breakfast routine, which I think is what aided in the loss this week. Everything else has stayed the same (nutrition and workout routines).
Here’s was my former morning routine: ☀️
5:30-7:30 Stretch, PT, Workout, Get ready for work
7:30 Drive to work, drink a protein shake (30 g protein)
8:00 Arrive at work and eat breakfast
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal with 1 scoop of protein powder (20 g protein), mixed with water
Here’s my morning routine this week: ☀️
5:30-7:30 Stretch, PT, Workout, Get ready for work
7:30 Drive to work, drink a protein shake (30 g protein) AND EAT A BANANA
8:00 Arrive at work and eat breakfast
Breakfast: SPINACH AND FROZEN PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE MIXED WITH WATER with 1 scoop of protein powder (20 g protein)
All I did was sub what I’ve been eating for breakfast and the timing of it, and it seems to be working great!
The non-scale victory has been great too! I had this pair of jeans that was way too tight that I threw in the back of my drawer. I’m able to wear them now! They are incredibly comfortable if not a little LOOSE! 😄 👖
Swipe to see me in those awesome jeans! ➡️

Hypothyroid Weight Loss Update 💪🏻
The scale hasn’t moved - I’m stuck at the same weight from 3 weeks ago…. 😵💫
BUT that’s why we don’t always focus ONLY on the scale! ⚖️
Here’s what I’ve noticed that has been positively different:
💪🏻 Much more muscle definition
🏋🏻♀️ I can lift heavier than ever
😴 My sleep is vastly improved! Is this how normal people sleep?!
⚡️My energy is up! I typically don’t feel the dreaded hypothyroid fatigue any longer.
🥗 My appetite has leveled out. I used to be starving all the time and crave salty or sweet things (which is typical for hypothyroid people). Now I’m fine with smaller portions and typically don’t have dessert or sweets.
🧍🏻♀️Less bloating and my tummy is flatter! With that, the tiniest bit of ab definition is starting to show, and I’m thrilled!
Here are the things I’ve done differently that I believe helped in all this:
💊 Added in coleus forskohlii as a supplement- this is for thyroid health and has helped minimize stress and has helped me sleep better.
🧘🏻♀️ Added in yoga once a week - either at home or in a class. This has helped with somatic stretching and reducing cortisol levels, aiding in my flexibility for my workouts and promoting overall wellbeing.
🦵🏼Altered my workouts slightly to have 3 lower body days. I used to do only 2 lower body and 3 upper body, but I’m wanting a better lower base for heavier compound lifts, so decided to switch it up.
All in all, I’d say I’m slowly but surely seeing positive improvement!
Hypothyroid weight loss is incredibly difficult – your body is literally working against you in losing weight. 🫤
BUT I can share that it IS possible to lose weight with hypothyroidism, it just takes some lifestyle changes and a lot of patience! 🌱⏳

Some days I’m loving this new growth.
Others I’m missing what I had before all my hair fell out and forget the progress I made so far. 📉
Hair loss is hard, even when it starts growing back. You reminisce about what you had and wish it was the same length that you loved before.
I’m guilty of scrolling through pictures like these and being ✨jealous✨ of my former self from a few years ago. I could style my curls anyway I wanted, and as someone put it recently, my hair was my “trademark”. That was a punch in the gut when I lost it all.
Wigs have definitely helped me feel more confident and beautiful, but there’s still an internal struggle with looking at your bio hair and remembering the length that wigs now have to give you.
I’ll be honest, there’s so many days I miss my long curls and wish I never lost it all to hypothyroidism. Life seemed easier, my health was “better”, and people would compliment me all the time on my hair. 💇🏻♀️
But I’ve come to realize that through all this, I actually AM in a better spot now mentally. While I may have been thinner and had all my curls, my mental health was struggling. I hated my job and was constantly stressed out, sliding deeper and deeper into anxiety and depression. I may have looked like I had it all together on the outside, but in my mind everything was complete chaos. ➰➰➰
I struggle some days still, that’s the reality, but I’m here to help encourage other women trying to grow their hair back after losing it to hypothyroidism. 💕
It’s gonna be hard. You’re going to have sucky days where all you wish for is your former luscious locks, but if you use this time to really begin to heal on the INSIDE, I can promise that the days do get better ☀️

Construction Industry Chic 👷🏻♀️✨
I work for a mechanical contractor, so my job takes me onto job sites some days. 🏗️🦺
I love that my wig can keep up with me in a variety of environments! From the gym to the job site, my has me covered (literally!). 💁🏻♀️👷🏻♀️
Let’s face it, it makes a dirty job site a little more ✨GLAM✨

Tis the season to dress up and have a great time! 🎄
I love getting to dress up for holiday parties - and this dress and wig made the night so festive!
By popular demand, I went with an elevated pony - and had so much fun I forgot to snap a pic of the full thing!
Guess these pics will have to do! 📸😜

This is the difference of only 5 days.
This is the devastating reality of hair loss. 😶
Only 5 days later, between Halloween and November 5th of 2022, and this is how much hair I lost.
That last slide (while disturbing) was my reality of just one of those 5 days. I remember sobbing and having a panic attack in the shower because my hair just kept falling out. I was trying to wash it but because it was shedding so fast it was getting tangled in the rest of my hair, and no amount of conditioner or detangler made any difference - giant clumps kept falling out and when I put it all together, it was as big as my size 7 shoe.
Hair loss is scary to begin with. But for some of us, the absolutely sudden contrast can be heart wrenching. The amount of grief you can have seemingly paralyzes you as you are unprepared for something so sudden.
This was the start of one of the darkest seasons of my life.
This is the reality for some women.
It’s scary.
It’s lonely.
It’s a terrifying gut punch.
You ask yourself “why me” or “what did I do wrong” or “am I dying?”
The sudden loss can push you to believe the worst.
But I’m also here to tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. ✨
While this past year was the worst I’ve ever had, it’s been the best as well.
I’ve learned to love myself for what’s on the inside. I’ve learned what it means to slow down and really live in peace. I’ve learned how to cherish small moments and not rush past them.
I’ve also learned that finding a community of women going through the same thing can also breathe life back into you when you feel so alone.
Things can get better. Even in the absolute darkest time, you can find your tribe and thrive.✨
Thank you to everyone that had made the most difficult time in my life also the most blessed and fulfilling.
While this was a reminder this weekend of where I was 1 year ago, my sights are set on 1 year from now and the light I can hopefully bring to other women going through the same thing.
If you are struggling with hair loss, find your community. It really can make all the difference. 🤍

My Summer Transformation Progress ☀️💪🏻
Holy smokes, am I proud of my health and weight loss journey.
Hypothyroidism made weight loss and strength training so incredibly difficult. I was struggling with:
😶🌫️ Brain fog
😫 Extreme fatigue
⬆️ Weight gain
👩🦲 Hair loss
All of these things made getting in the gym and seeing progress harder than it had ever been for me in the past, prior to my diagnosis.
My goal for the summer was to get my thyroid health back in order, and therefore kickstart my weight loss. ☀️
I was tired of being tired, and wanted to take my life back from my hair loss and weight gain due to hypothyroidism.
I’ll be honest, I was hoping the scale would go down more than it did (I only lost 5 pounds), BUT I realized that my non-scale victories were even more important than what the scale said.
Better yet, here’s what I’ve GAINED vs what I lost:
⚡️ I’ve gained my energy back
💪🏻 I’ve gained quite a bit more muscle and some killer definition
🏋🏻♀️ I’ve gained some new PRs - specifically I’ve gained 45lbs added to my deadlift!
🧘🏻♀️ I’ve gained a more positive outlook on my mental and physical health
💇🏻♀️ I’ve gained some new hair growth
💕 I’ve gained a desire to help other women experiencing the same struggles with hair loss and weight gain from hypothyroidism
This was a difficult summer for progress, but I’m SO HAPPY with the results. Consistency and positivity can yield the best results!
🥂 Here’s to continuing this progress and demonstrating that small changes can lead to lasting results! 🥂

How I beat the heat in a wig 🥵
No lie, the heat index is at 112*, and wearing a wig in this heat can be uncomfortable if you’re not prepped.
Here’s how I stay cool in this heat:
☀️- WEAR A SILICONE WIG GRIP- let’s face it, we’re getting super sweaty. When that sweat gets you, we don’t want our wigs or wig grips falling off, which is why I recommend a silicone wig grip. It’ll stay put and won’t get drenched like your standard velvet wig grip.
☀️- STYLE YOUR WIG OFF YOUR NECK - high buns are my favorite! These are super easy to do with a wig, and looks so natural! The wig is super breathable too, keeping you cool in those hot days!
☀️- DON’T WEAR A WIG AT ALL - wait, what?! That’s right - your comfort is the priority here, and if you feel great going without a wig, DO IT! Don’t let the heat hold you back from being nice and cool ❄️
What are some of your favorite ways of staying cool with a wig? Share in the comments! ☀️❄️
