CENTERS, LLC
Our mission is to lead the nation in campus center management.
The strongest organizations don't simply hire talented people; they create environments where talent can grow, evolve, and make a lasting impact. At CENTERS, we believe people are our greatest competitive advantage. That's why we invest in leadership, encourage continuous learning, and create opportunities for individuals to apply their unique strengths in meaningful ways. When people are empowered to expand their skills and take on new challenges, they don't just advance their careers; they strengthen the campus communities we serve.
The perspectives shared in this video are unique to each individual, but together they reflect a common theme: a culture built on trust, opportunity, collaboration, and purpose. While every career journey looks different, the commitment to developing people and helping them reach their full potential remains the same. Because when people grow, campuses thrive. And that's the kind of impact that extends far beyond the workplace.
The latest edition of CENTERS Impact takes a closer look at the future of campus recreation and the strategic decisions shaping the next generation of campus experiences. As institutions continue to balance evolving student expectations, aging facilities, and changing financial realities, recreation has become far more than a place to exercise. It is a catalyst for student success, wellbeing, belonging, community building, and institutional engagement. The campuses that plan with intention today will be best positioned to meet tomorrow's challenges.
In this issue, we explore the next wave of recreation reinvestment, why aligning facility planning with operational strategy leads to stronger long-term outcomes, and how thoughtful decision-making can maximize both student impact and institutional value. From capital planning and space optimization to programming and operational excellence, this edition highlights the opportunities institutions have to create sustainable, adaptable recreation experiences built for the future. Whether you're planning your next renovation, evaluating existing operations, or looking for new ways to elevate the student experience, this issue offers practical insights and forward-looking perspectives to help guide the conversation.

The future of campus recreation isn’t defined by the equipment itself. It’s defined by the strategy behind every investment. In the latest Campus Rec Magazine feature, CENTERS, LLC leaders Mike Weaver, FMP at Marshall University and Chris Stewart at Cleveland State University share how institutions are approaching cardio equipment through a broader lens, balancing student expectations, operational performance, sustainability, lifecycle planning, and long-term value.
At CENTERS, we believe the most impactful decisions happen when data, experience, and purpose come together. It’s not simply about outfitting a fitness floor. It’s about creating environments that strengthen the student experience while positioning campus recreation for the future. We’re proud to see our team contributing to conversations that help shape what’s next across higher education.
Cardio Equipment Trends Reshaping Campus Recreation Leaders are rethinking cardio equipment investments by balancing student demand, connected technology, sustainability and long-term value.

At CENTERS, we believe AI isn’t about replacing expertise. It’s about expanding it. The organizations that will lead tomorrow aren’t the ones with the most technology. They’re the ones investing in people who know how to ask better questions, think more critically, communicate more effectively, and use new tools with intention.
That’s exactly what AI Learning Week was about. Over three days, our team explored practical applications of AI across leadership, communication, campus recreation, critical thinking, and people management. More importantly, our own employees stepped forward to share their knowledge, challenge perspectives, and create conversations that will continue long after the sessions ended.
Because innovation doesn’t happen when information is locked away. It happens when people are willing to teach, learn, experiment, and grow together. Technology will continue to evolve. Our commitment to developing curious, adaptable, forward-thinking people will too. That’s how we stay ahead. More importantly, it’s how we help our clients stay ahead.

Last month, celebrated 21 years of impact.
Since opening in 2005, UAB Rec has been more than a recreation facility. It has served as a hub for student development, leadership growth, community building, and well-being. Through innovative programs, meaningful employment opportunities, and exceptional experiences, UAB Rec has helped shape generations of students while strengthening the UAB community.
For 21 years, UAB Rec has demonstrated that campus recreation is about more than fitness. It is about creating opportunities, developing leaders, fostering belonging, and making a lasting impact on the student experience.
What if student employment became one of the most valuable leadership pipelines on campus? In this month’s CENTERS Solutions newsletter, we explore how student employment can move beyond staffing and become a strategic advantage for institutions focused on career readiness, operational excellence, and workforce development. From onboarding innovation at Harper College to large-scale commencement operations at Cleveland State University, this issue highlights how students are gaining real-world leadership experience while campus teams strengthen service delivery, accountability, and daily operations.
This issue highlights:
- Student Employment as a Strategy for Career Readiness
- Student-led onboarding innovation at Harper College
- Commencement operations at Cleveland State University
- CENTERS leaders discussing AI and the future of campus recreation at NIRSA

CENTERS Impact is live. When the operating model is aligned, teams execute with clarity, service strengthens, and outcomes follow. Campus center performance is not a reflection of individual capability. It reflects the strength and cohesion of the model that supports it. When alignment across structure, staffing, and support begins to erode, the impact is immediate. Capacity is strained, consistency declines, and performance levels off. Even the strongest teams cannot sustain results without the right operational foundation. This edition examines how institutions are evolving their approaches, strengthening team structures, integrating operations, and designing support systems to drive long-term.
