Just a small update as we come on week 6. So far all our labs are looking good. Numbers are still improving and some baselines being established. But overall Carlie is doing fantastic. On top of healing herself she has been nursing my health too.

I couldn’t ask for a better partner in this life then CArlie and our amazing family .

Today we got to go to DaVida Home for hopefully the LAST TIME . And returned the PT Dialysis machine. This was a trip we were happy to take.

Also if anyone you know is in need of PT Dialysis solution Dextrose 2.5 % , Dextrose 1.5%. We have plenty of Hreen bags and yellow bags and a few boxes of Purple is anyone can use them or knows some that can

Just a little update. Carlie is doing great going into week 4 post transplant. Bloodwork numbers continue to improve, We do labs 2x a week to make sure she is getting her meds dialed in. So we have to continuously monitor her blood levels to get them in acceptible ranges.
Aside from the great progress , we need her to take it easy and relax. So she doesn’t over do it.

Also we would like to share our Duaghter and youngest child has Offically become a Class of 2024 Graduate. So much hard work and determination she has completed her schooling and now becomes a member of society. And we know she is going to do just great. Congrats Lillian

Up at 4:45am and back to the Hospital, Carlie is going back into surgery this morning. She is not feeling the mood today, and meds got her a bit down. Let’s show her some love . And get some well wishes and prayers for her.

Surgery ( PD Cath removal/ Stent Removal )

Had some Oatmeal for lunch today. Carlie has been losing nearly 3-4lbs of water weight since her surgery. Down almost 25lbs since Transplant.

Tomorrow morning we have surgery again, this time is to remove her PD Cath, and Stent from Transplant Surgery. As of now Carlie is Officially finished doing Dyalisis. 🙏🙏🙏

Good news, Firt off todays blood work showed Carlie’s Creatinine has dropped to 3.9 mg/dL her range was as high as 18mg/dL before the transplant. And hasn’t been below 5mg/dL in years. The Avg level for women is 0.7 - 1.1mg/dL so this is fantastic.

A great sign the Kidney is doing what it needs to be doing. Also Carlie’s urinating frequently, This is also a positive sign. Now she has to wake up 3-4x a night to p*e like the rest of us old folks. 🤣🤣🤣

Also her PT Line going to her stomach for PT Dialysis is being removed on Wednesday. They just called to tell us thier going to schedule the surgery. Luckily we were already in Philadelphia today so we’re be staying until Thursday now because the surgery requires her to go under.
This is amazing NEWs. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Please keep her in your prayers, and if you can please share her Go Fund Me, this is to help pay for all the unplanned Medical Expenses, The Long Stays in Philadelphia, Prescriptions, and to keep her able to pay her bills until she can get back to work in a few months. I’ll reshape the link

Sunday Funday, getting ready to leave and drive to Philadelphia. Early morning appointments at Penn Medicine Pearlman Building. Meeting with Transplant Team and going over Meds, Progress, and Plans moving Forward. Fingers crossed progress is moving in the right direction and numbers from bloodwork continue to improve.

Here is a little p*ek into Carlie’s daily routine.

First as soon as we get up, we have to drain her JP Drain ( aka gr***de ) this helps to pull out any fluid buildup around her sIfe.

Next we have to check her BloodnSugar, Carlie is not a Diabetic however aome of the meds raise her blood sugar , and can also cause her to become one: So we have 4 checks a day. So we check morning, noon, evening, bed time.

Next is the fun part, she has a concoction of pills that would make the Old Folks gringe while playing Pill Bingo 😂😂😂 This doesn’t even include PRN meds or take as needed pills
These are her Dailey meds which can change week to week basis depending on blood work. The biggest concern is obviously making sure she doesn’t reject the Kidney and they do that by surpressing her Immunity. This also makes her more susceptible to illness. So it’s recommended to stay away from large crowds, going out to eat, and other public places unless she wears a mask.

Then we have all the random fun activities or wound changes, BP checks, weighing, documenting fluid intake/ drains so we can report exactly what she is doing. This also helps to make those nessacery changes in her weekly meds.

I never knew being a Care Giving could be so rigerious. But it’s more then worth it.
