Pool days are the best days 🌞

New hair. Who dis?

The only flag at my house this weekend.

Why is it so hard to be a good parent? We want to protect our kids when we need to let them find their way. We want to soften life so it doesn’t hurt as much. We want to fix things we can’t fix.

I learned today that a big part of parenting is that it’s ok to let our kids find their voice. And start to fight their own fights. And it’s ok for them to sit in discomfort. It’s good for them to stay there and find their way out. Being a good mom isn’t always protecting our kids from hurt, it’s teaching them that we all hurt, and that’s ok. And normal. And teaching them to find their way out of that discomfort is one of the best skills we can give them. Life is never completely comfortable. Or easy.

So thankful for the friend who pushed me to be a better version of myself today.

Something about easy summer nights.

For all the moms who are both mom and dad, today is a celebration of us. We do all the hard things. Every day. By ourselves.

Still trying to figure out where my little kids went and how I wound up with these big ones. 😭 First day of first, third and fifth. It goes by so quickly.

Love. That’s all. It amazes me how much love and compassion a just 4 year old can have. Somehow, when these two sleep next to each other, they naturally gravitate to each other. I truly don’t have the words to describe the bond between my two little redheads. ❤️❤️
