One of the biggest misconceptions in the hair world is that dark brown to blonde can happen in one appointment. Sometimes it can, but not when healthy hair is the goal.

This is Olivia, she started with a professionally colored level 4 dark brown over previously blonde hair. That meant I wasn’t just lifting dark color, I was also lightening hair that had already been through the blonding process once before, that makes it much more difficult to keep the hair from breaking off.
It took 9 sessions to get here, she came about every 8 weeks (so just a little over a year), and honestly, she didn’t really feel blonde until around session 6. Along the way, we made little changes that kept her feeling blonde during the journey:
Added blonde K-tip extensions for a brighter look.
Eventually went for a shorter cut.
Finished with two rows of Genius Weft extensions for length after regretting the hair cut 😆
Each appointment she was prepped and treated with K-18, and I very carefully babylighted her whole head of hair each time. I’d rather take multiple sessions than end in excessive breakage.
