Hi 🥹 I’m Lexi 🩷

I’ve been a nurse for 11 years, and this year my dad was diagnosed with a rare disease. Navigating his care felt impossible, even with my years of experience in medicine.

That’s when it hit me… If I felt this lost navigating a system I thought I knew like the back of my hand, how does everyone else feel?

So now I teach women to speak up for their health and make themselves a priority again. Because the woman caring for everyone else deserves care too.

Here’s what you’ll find on this page:
🩺 Appointment scripts that actually work
✨ Simple beauty for real life
💗 Self-care that fits in the margins

If you’ve made it this far, you’re my people. Follow for the scripts, stay for the self-care.

That’s my story. I’d love to hear a piece of yours. 🥹🩷

The parking lot is always when you remember. 😭

During the appointment you’re trying to listen, process new information, remember medications, understand the plan AND somehow think of every question you wanted to ask.

It’s a lot.

That’s exactly why I created my FREE Speak Up Script. 10 questions you can take into an appointment when you don’t even know where to start.

I’m sharing what I’ve learned from both sides: critical care nurse + now healthcare advocate to my dad.

Nobody prepares you for how hard it is to think clearly when someone you love gets sick.

You can walk into a doctor appointment with a list of questions and still leave wondering what just happened.

I’m a critical care nurse. I know healthcare.

And when my own dad was diagnosed with a rare illness, I STILL found myself overwhelmed, researching everything and thinking of questions after the appointment was already over.

That’s why I created my FREE Speak Up Script. 10 questions to help patients and caregivers understand what’s happening, what comes next and what to ask when you don’t know where to start.

You’re allowed to ask questions about your healthcare.

You’re allowed to ask why. You’re allowed to ask what the other options are. You’re allowed to say you don’t understand.

That doesn’t make you difficult.

I’ve been a critical care nurse for 10+ years. I know healthcare. I know how much information gets thrown at you in a single appointment.

Then my own dad was diagnosed with a rare illness.

Even with my years of experience, I’ve had to learn how to speak up, ask more questions and push for clarity when something doesn’t make sense.

That’s why I created my FREE Speak Up Script. 10 questions to help you understand what’s happening, what comes next, and what to ask when you don’t know where to start.

I’m sharing what I’ve learned from both sides, as a nurse and now as a caregiver.

You can walk into a medical appointment with a million things running through your head.

Then they ask, “What questions do you have?”

And suddenly you don’t even know where to start.

I’ve been a critical care nurse for 10+ years. I know healthcare. I know what questions to ask and when something needs more clarification.

Then my own dad was diagnosed with a rare illness.

Even with my years of experience, I’ve walked away from appointments thinking, “Wait. What does that mean? What happens next? What did I forget to ask?”

That’s why I created my FREE Speak Up Script. 10 questions to help you understand what’s happening, what comes next, and what to ask when your brain goes completely blank.

I’m sharing what I’ve learned from both sides, as a nurse and now as a caregiver.

Nobody hands you a handbook when you or someone you love gets sick.

Chronic. Rare. Terminal. Or still searching for answers. The overwhelm hits you like a ton of bricks.

I’ve been a critical care nurse for 10+ years. I know healthcare. I know what questions to ask and how to push for more.

Then my own dad was diagnosed with a rare illness.

Even with my years of experience, I’ve felt stuck, confused, angry and discouraged.

That’s why I created my FREE Speak Up Script. 10 questions to help you understand what’s happening, what comes next, and what to ask when you don’t know where to start.

I’m sharing what I’ve learned from both sides, as a nurse and now as a caregiver.

I’ve been part of a LOT of product launches over the last 10 years…

But I’ve never seen this level of secrecy, science and excitement surrounding one before. 👀

All I can say is this isn’t just adding another product on September 15. I’m about to change the conversation completely.

I’m preparing for this one to be BIG big. 💙

Comment FIRST and I’ll make sure you’re one of the first to know when the secret is officially out.

I’ve spent over 11 years as a critical care nurse sitting on the healthcare side of the conversation.

Now I’m experiencing what it feels like to be the family member sitting on the other side of it.

Sometimes you have to ask the uncomfortable question.
Ask what hasn’t been ruled out.
Ask if there’s another option.
Ask for the specialist.
Ask them to explain it again.

Not because you think you know more than your healthcare team.

Because you are part of the healthcare team. 🩷

I’m here to teach you how to ask the questions, understand your options, and speak up when it matters.

Follow Lexi | Self Care + Healthcare for tips on addressing the uncomfortable issues in healthcare. You shouldn’t have to fight alone. 🩷

I’ve been a nurse for over 11 years.

Sitting on the other side of the room as a daughter changed everything.

I know how healthcare works. I know the terminology. I know how to talk to providers. I know that sometimes there truly isn’t another treatment or another answer.

And I still found myself wondering:

Am I asking too much?
Am I being difficult?
Should I just accept this and stop pushing?

But this is my dad.

So I asked the uncomfortable questions anyway.

Not because I expected his doctor to magically fix something that couldn’t be fixed.

I needed to understand.

What have we tried?
What haven’t we tried?
Who else could we talk to?
What options exist, even if they aren’t the standard next step?

That experience made me realize how incredibly hard this must be for someone who doesn’t have a medical background.

Nobody teaches you what questions to ask.

And sometimes the person sitting in that appointment with you needs you to be their voice before you feel remotely ready to be it.

So if you need permission today:

Ask the question.
Ask for clarification.
Ask what comes next.
Ask who else you should talk to.
Ask until you understand.

You can respect your healthcare team AND advocate fiercely for someone you love. Those two things can exist at the same time.

🩷 Comment SPEAK UP and I’ll send you my list of 10 questions you can take to your next medical appointment.

Save this for the day you need the reminder. And send it to the person who always comes to appointments ready to ask the questions.
