I’M WATCHING A WOMAN I USED TO BE… AND REALIZING SHE SURVIVED THINGS SHE THOUGHT WOULD BREAK HER. 🙌🏽

As I sit here going through my memories, I realize how much more meaning some of these old videos carry now.
When I’m creating content, I usually record everything, save it to my laptop, and only share what’s still on my cell phone. So this is actually a video I shared very early in my YouTube journey that never made it onto the channel. I’ve shared it in a few other places, but watching it now feels completely different.

As I looked at every image of myself my hairstyles, my body language, my glow, even the way I carried myself I started realizing something…

I was going through a different season in every one of those moments.
Some of those seasons were beautiful. Some were confusing. Some were painful. And some were absolutely unbearable while I was living through them.

But the woman in that video made it through every single one of those moments she thought she couldn’t survive!!

That realization is hard to put into words.
When I look at her now, I see a woman who was young, naïve, gullible, hopeful, learning, growing, and simply trying to figure life out. And instead of judging her for what she didn’t know, I’m grateful for her.

Because she kept going.
And today, I’m sitting here thanking God for His grace, His mercy, His knowledge, His wisdom, His strength, and His ability to carry me through every season.

I didn’t always understand the season I was in, but now I can look back and see that I made it past moments I once thought would break me. 🙌🏽

Maybe we’ll call this a reflection video. ❤️
Because sometimes you have to look back 🙏🏽 not to live there, but to realize just how far God has brought you.

Look at her… she had no idea what was ahead.
And look at me now. 🙌🏽

Sometimes, we lose ourselves in seasons of life we never expected to face.
As women, we can spend so much time being everything to everyone else that we forget about ourselves. It can happen through motherhood, marriage, divorce, grief, heartbreak, caregiving, financial struggles, losing a job, addiction, disappointment, or simply trying to survive what life keeps throwing at us.
Then one day, we look up and realize, “I don’t even recognize myself anymore.”
But please, be patient with yourself. ❤️
What you’ve been through may have changed you, but it doesn’t have to define you. Give yourself time to heal, rebuild your confidence, and find your strength again.
And remember, finding yourself doesn’t always mean becoming who you used to be. Sometimes, it means discovering who you are becoming because of everything you’ve survived.
You can make different choices. You can ask for help. You can heal. You can change. You can start over. And whether you’re 20, 40, 60, or beyond, it’s never too late to find yourself again.
You only get one life. There is still life to live. ❤️
I played this song because, in this moment, it just made sense. 🎶
If you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way, remember: you are still in there. Be patient with yourself, and find your way back.

Adversity will make you question everything, but it doesn’t get to decide when you stop!

I’ve been going through it, but I’m still showing up, still figuring it out, and still making it happen. Even when things don’t look promising, every time I show up, things turn out better than I expected 🙌🏽

The feelings don’t disappear just because I keep moving. I just refuse to let adversity have the final say. 🙏🏽
