Women of ccolor PLEASE embrace your SHRINKAGE. "Shrinkage" is the NATURAL state of OUR hair when it has been wet and then dries.
When you compare OUR hair to the hair of others... shrinkage can be negative and/or embarrassing to many.
Well let me yell ya... Shrinkage is my BEST friend!
Shrinkage is when my hair is at full capacity in it's natural state and I LOVE IT!!!
If you don't like Shrinkage and find it so embarrassing that you refuse to wear your natural hair...

Beautiful flowers grow from soil that is well watered, rich in nutrients and regularly cleared of waste and debris. Without these conditions we do not expect growth to flourish and our hair is no different.
Our scalp is just a part of our body and our bodies and it’s systems provide the scalp, and subsequently the hair, with everything it needs.
There is NO MAGIC SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER or any other external product that will make a huge difference to hair growth. (Unless your issue is actually with breakage, not growth, in which case maybe so but even then there's still a lot more to it like habits, regime etc...) Note that hair getting visibly longer and hair growth are not always the same thing...
Lots of things affect hair growth on an individual basis -hormones, illness etc, but the factors that ALWAYS affect it are water intake, nutrition, supply of both of these (blood flow - get that heart pumping with regular exercise) and ensuring the best possible surface environment - eg regular cleansing of the scalp.
Becoming a certified trichologist has been so valuable in growing my own understanding of this and more, and I'm so happy to be able to share elements of it with the people around me now.
