Your ear tabs will expose a bad install EVERY time 😮‍💨⬇️

If the sides of your lace are always the first to lift, stop automatically blaming the glue, sis. Ear tabs are one of the trickiest areas to secure because placement, skin prep, glue application, and even the client’s hairline can all play a part.

And after 10+ years behind the lace, I’ve learned sometimes those ear tabs need a little extra reinforcement 👀 Depending on the client, I may add tape to help anchor the sides — but it’s CASE BY CASE. Technique is knowing when it’s needed, not doing the same install on everybody. 💅🏾

One of the biggest reasons lace starts lifting around the edges is because many stylists don’t apply the adhesive all the way to the very edge of the lace. That tiny detail leaves sections unsupported, and those are the first areas to peel up.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people piling on thick layers of glue thinking it’ll make their install last longer. It actually takes longer to dry, can cause lifting, and leaves behind a messy cleanup.

The longest-lasting installs come from thin, even layers applied correctly—not using half the bottle. That’s how I get a clean, seamless melt.
