You need to stop acting like one imperfect moment erased everything youâve already done.
Some advice sounds smart until you realize itâs built on limitations instead of possibilities. Life doesnât happen one category at a time, so why should growth?
Sometimes youâre building your health, your career, your confidence, your relationships, and your future all at once. It wonât always be perfectly balanced, but that doesnât mean you have to put your life on hold.
Be careful who you take advice from. Some people are sharing their limits⌠not yours.
Whatâs the worst piece of advice youâve ever been given? đ
Yâall are gonna hate me for thisâŚthe gym bros are right.
Eating less and moving more is still how body fat is lost.
A GLP-1 doesnât change the laws of thermodynamics.
It changes the biology that makes following them so damn difficult.
Thatâs the difference.
Somewhere along the way, people started acting like using a GLP-1 and strength training are mutually exclusive⌠theyâre not.
My GLP-1 helps me manage multiple metabolic diseases. The gym is helping me build strength, preserve muscle, improve my fitness, and become the healthiest version of myself.
You can want to lose body fat AND build muscle.
For me, those goals have never competed with each other, theyâve worked together.
Whatâs your take? Do GLP-1s and strength training go hand in hand, or do you see them differently? đ
Itâs rarely the first injection thatâs scary.
Itâs the thought: âWhat if this doesnât work for me either?â
I know that feeling because Iâd already tried, already failed, and already convinced myself my body was the exception.
But hereâs what Iâve learned: fear isnât proof that youâll fail. Itâs usually proof that youâve been disappointed before.
Whether youâre thinking about starting a GLP-1, switching medications, or giving treatment one more chance, donât let your past decide your future.
Sometimes the next step is the one that finally changes everything. đ
If youâve ever been afraid to start because you were scared of failing again, youâre not alone. Tell me with a đ below.
Hot take: the fitness bros arenât actually wrong.
You do have to eat less.
You do have to move more.
The part they leave out is that for many of us with obesity, insulin resistance, PCOS, type 2 diabetes, etc⌠our biology made those things exponentially harder.
A GLP-1 didnât replace the work for me. It finally made the workâŚwork.
I still had to prioritize protein. I still had to stay in a calorie deficit. I still had to strength train. I still had to show up.
The medication didnât erase the effort, it gave my body a chance to respond to it.
Agree or disagree? đ
Youâre probably not a slow responder⌠youâre probably expecting the kind of results social media convinced you should have by now.
The truth? Clinical trials showed that anywhere from 15% to 30% of participants lost less weight than the average. That doesnât mean treatment isnât working.
Progress isnât all or nothing, and comparing your chapter 3 to someone elseâs chapter 30 is a fast way to miss the wins youâre actually making.
If your GLP-1 journey has felt slower than you expected, this is your reminder not to count yourself out. đ
How long have you been on your GLP-1, and what progress are you celebratingâŚeven if itâs not the number on the scale?
The gym.
The protein.
The calorie deficit.
A GLP-1.
âŚand a plastic surgeon.
Thatâs the list. đ
I think social media makes people feel like there has to be one secret, but my transformation came from a lot of different tools working together over several years. None of them canceled out the others. They all played a role.
Weight loss, strength training, body recomposition, and eventually plastic surgery each helped me become more comfortable in my body. Iâm grateful for every piece of the journey.
Which one do people seem most surprised by: the GLP-1 or the plastic surgeon? đ
For almost two years, I thought GLP-1 medications just didnât work for me.
Ozempic didnât.
Trulicity didnât.
It wouldâve been easy to believe I was a ânon-responderâ and give up.
Then I started Mounjaro.
The difference was life-changing.
Thatâs why I always remind people that not every GLP-1 medication works the same for every person. One medication not working doesnât automatically mean theyâre all off the table.
Have you ever had to switch GLP-1 medications to find the right fit? Iâd love to hear your experience below. đ
If you feel like everyone else is losing weight faster than you⌠this is your reminder not to quit.
My GLP-1 journey wasnât a straight line. Some medications didnât work. Some seasons felt painfully slow.
Progress doesnât have to look like someone elseâs to still be real.
If youâre in the âslow progressâ club, youâre in good company. Tell me how long youâve been on your journey. đ
