Wow, I had no clue.
TIP OFF: Two-thirds of GLP-1 users reported at least one nail disorder, with nail detachment hitting 39% of users compared to just 9% of non-users.
Researchers found the gap held even after adjusting for weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, and pre-existing skin conditions, putting the rate of nail detachment and discoloration two to three times higher among the medication group.
The controlled study, presented at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress, evaluated 575 GLP-1 users against 1,329 non-users with diabetes or obesity across four countries.
