Early this past spring my landlord decided to cut down a mulberry tree that had grown into our electrical wires. My daughter was heart broken and recalled the time we made mulberry syrup and all the fun we’ve had harvesting the prolific berries.

Later that spring I am careful as I mow and w**d where the tree had been cut down. The area beneath had been quite shady and nothing much grew. With sun and rain many plants were beginning to grow. As I monitored the area I began noticing a few plants that whispered in my ear and I decided to check a few on my plant app, Picture This. We were gifted a Black berry and several ground cherries in place of our beloved mulberry. My daughter and husband giggled about how it was probably the bird p**p from the mulberry feasting feathered friends of last season! What a beautiful lesson! Often times sad endings may bring even sweeter beginnings.
