There was a time when I thought every person who walked away was my fault.

I questioned everything.

Was I not enough?

Did I not serve them well enough?

Was I not a good enough friend… a good enough leader?

I carried those questions for far too long.

But I’m learning something that has brought me so much peace…

Sometimes God removes people from our lives for a reason, even when we don’t understand it.

Not every ending is a punishment.
Not every goodbye means you failed.
Not every closed door is because you weren’t enough.

Sometimes God is protecting you.
Sometimes He’s redirecting you.
Sometimes He’s making room for what He has next.

We don’t always get the answers we want in the moment. But if we keep trusting Him, He has a way of revealing His plan in His perfect timing.

So if you’re carrying the weight of wondering, “What did I do wrong?”…

Maybe today is the day to lay that burden down.

Trust that God sees what you can’t.

His plan is always bigger than our understanding.

These old shoes have been through a lot.

Today I noticed another hole starting… and honestly, I just smiled.

A year ago, these shoes were brand new. Since then they’ve walked countless miles with me—through sunshine, rain, hard days, healing days, days I didn’t feel like walking, and days I couldn’t wait to get outside.

This morning I was out walking in the rain, laughing and thanking God for the cool air. Then I looked down and saw those worn-out shoes.

Some people see holes.

I see progress.

Every scuff tells a story.
Every mile was a choice.
Every step was one more step toward becoming healthier than I was yesterday.

So today I tossed them in the trash.

Not because they failed me…
But because they did exactly what they were meant to do.

Sometimes the things that wear out in our lives are proof that we’ve been moving forward.

Keep taking the walk.
Keep showing up.
One step at a time.
