Reflecting on the latest life updates, I wanted to share these magnificent moments with you.

Life happens while you are making plans.

We walked this beach every evening — same hour, same three of us, her in the middle holding both our hands.

I plan other people's perfect days all year long.
I forget to book my own.

And here is what a week of sunsets taught me.

The people beside you are the whole point.

Everything else is just the schedule.

Don't waste the present on tomorrow's wishes.

The work will wait.

The light will not.

She will be taller next summer.

Take the week. Go.

Five things I wish every bride knew before she chose her team.

♡The trial is not about the makeup. It's about the chair. Whether you can breathe in it. Whether the person holding the brush is listening or performing. You'll know within ten minutes, and that feeling is the real answer.

♡Ask who's showing up. Not the studio name — the hands. Some artists book you and send someone you've never met. That can be perfectly fine. It just shouldn't be a surprise you find out at 7am in a hotel room.

♡Scroll for someone who looks like you. Your skin, your texture, your eyes. A portfolio tells you what an artist practices most, and practice is what holds up under twelve hours and a photographer's flash.

♡Ask about the morning, not just the look. Six people, one bathroom, a photographer who needs you at eleven. The artists who've done this a hundred times will already be describing the timeline before you finish the question.

♡And read the contract. Not for the price — for the care. Travel, early starts, what happens when your cousin decides she wants hair too. Someone who's thought it through has thought about you.

The right team won't turn you into someone else. They'll hand you back the morning you've been imagining for years, and get out of the way so you can live in it.
