3 questions I ask at every single appointment. They’ve changed how I advocate for my dad, and for myself.
1. Don’t understand something? ASK. Don’t just nod along.
2. “Help me understand what this is for, and what it changes about my situation.”
3. “Who else should be involved in my care?” PT, speech, social work, nutrition, palliative care. So many people don’t know to ask.
I’m , a nurse of over 10 years including 11 in ER/ICU. I know this system on paper. Being a caregiver taught me the rest.
I’ve got 7 more questions every caregiver needs. Comment ASK and I’ll send the full list of 10.

I told my dad’s doctor that he wasn’t doing enough… and he got offended. Offending him was never the intention. I just needed him to hear me. We are currently navigating something that feels so scary and impossible, and I needed more support.
I’m Lexi | Mom Humor & Beauty and I’m a nurse. I’ve worked in healthcare for over half of my life. I’ve worked in ER/ICU critical care for 11 years. I know how to ask hard questions. I know how to navigate the healthcare system. But sitting in that chair, begging for more guidance, taught me something profound.
Most people don’t know how to ask the hard questions. Most people don’t feel safe pushing back when they need to.
I want to turn this heartache into something impactful. If you’re going through something that feels impossible, please know you’re not alone. I’ve got 10 questions that every caregiver should ask their loved one’s care team. Comment ASK and I’ll send them over.
Make sure to follow along as I share more about advocating for your health and learning how to ask the hard questions. 🩷
Yup…. Saving $100 and getting accused of wearing false lashes. That’s a double WIN!! Comment SERUM and I’ll send you the 🔗!
I didn’t think I’d be the one asking these questions. 😭
For more than half of my life, I’ve been the nurse in the room. The one with the answers, the calm voice, the person other families looked to for reassurance.
Over the last 2 years, my role as a nurse has hit a personal level helping advocate for my dad. Suddenly, I was the one losing sleep before doctor’s appointments, rehearsing what to say, learning how to push back on the care team without burning the relationship we needed to keep.
Knowing the system from the inside didn’t make it easier. If anything, it made it harder, because I knew exactly how much falls through the cracks when nobody’s fighting for you.
I’ve thought about creating a space to share what I’ve learned. How to ask the right questions. How to push for more testing without sounding “difficult.” How to advocate for someone you love when you feel like you’re on the outside of a system you don’t understand.
So tell me honestly:
Is this something you’d want more of? And what’s been your biggest struggle advocating for yourself or someone you love in the healthcare setting? 🩷

I used to sit in a tanning bed every week in high school. Pl***oy bunny sticker and everything. 😳
For years I thought my sun spots were just… mine now. Permanent. A punishment for not knowing better at 17.
I started looking at the science behind skincare, aging, skin cancer and supplements. I became obsessed with watching my sun damage disappear and the fine lines flatten out. Now I teach others how to do the same thing.
Here’s what nobody tells you though. It was never about buying more. I had a drawer full of stuff doing nothing for me too.
It was about finding the 4 steps I’d actually do every single day.
You don’t need 27 products. You need a routine short enough that you’ll still be doing it in six months.
Comment SHORT and I’ll help you find the right active ingredients for your skin because great skin shouldn’t require a 12 step routine. 💕
Kinda chic to consume 6 cans of Diet Coke before 9am ✨
If your idea of self care is a 5 minute beauty routine, a crispy Diet Coke, and hiding in the bathroom for a little longer than medically necessary… you’re my kind of person. 😂
Around here, we’re growing our lashes, finding affordable products that actually work, laughing through the chaos, and attempting to feel hot again….even when someone has been yelling “MOM!” since 6:42am 😂
If you’re a tired mom who still wants to feel like herself, welcome. You belong here. 🩷

Can we be internet besties… or would I annoy you immediately? 😂
I’m an eldest daughter, girl mom x2, former ER/ICU nurse, chronic oversharer, and firm believer that a cold Diet Coke can fix at least 73% of life’s problems.
I like my beauty routines quick, my recommendations honest, and my products backed by results, receipts, and a return policy. 💅🏼
Which one made you think, “Yep, she’s my kind of person”? 👇🏼
At this point…It’s a personal trait. 🤘🏼

I’ve always had the world’s shortest lashes. Call me the queen of the itty bitty lash committee 😂 I’ve tried allllll of the lash serums. Expensive, affordable, prostaglandins, prostaglandin free, you name it, I’ve tried it. My number one complaint has always been itching and redness. 🥴
STOP APPLYING IT LIKE EYELINER. Do not let it touch your skin. ⚡️ The moment I started applying it like mascara, right at the root of my lashes, the irritation disappeared and my lashes started to pop!
Share this with someone who has always wanted to have longer lashes but just couldn’t stand the pain. I promise this hack is a game changer. 🫶🏼
Comment LASH if you need the link to the serum I use! It’s the most affordable, most effective and least irritating one I’ve found. 💕
