These photos show fairy hair that has been applied incorrectly. Honestly, I’m not even sure what technique was used here.
The biggest concern is what happens as it grows out. Large knots or multiple strands attached together are much more likely to catch on brushes and fingers, creating tension on the natural hair. In many cases, that can cause the client to lose the hair attached to the knot.
When choosing a fairy hair artist, don’t be afraid to ask how they apply it. The proper method is one strand of fairy hair tied to one strand of your natural hair. This allows the fairy hair to grow out naturally with your hair and minimizes unnecessary pulling or damage.
Not all application methods are the same, and the way it’s installed matters just as much as how pretty it looks on day one.✨
