✨ 12 YEARS AS A MASSAGE THERAPIST! ✨

Every September/October, I get thinking about where this journey began.
-Dec 2012 : Started OSTM
-August 2014: NYC. Hundreds of students. State board exam. 😩
-Six. LONG. Weeks. Waiting for those results.

I’ll never forget getting that call from Yantise. Time stopped and I’ve never again felt that sudden intense urge to quit my job 🫣. We drove to NYC together, shared a hostel room (I thought it was a hotel 😅) studied, stressed, and prayed for that “PASS.” 😂❤️
12 years later…. Still proud LMT

At the time, my girls were little and not everyone understood why I was investing time and money into massage school. My own mother even told me I didn’t need school to be a “whore.” 🫠

Well… GOOD THING I DIDN’T LISTEN. 😂
Because this career has fulfilled my soul in ways I could have never have imagined.

I took a risk.
I invested in myself.
I followed my dream.
And I’m SO grateful I did.

Which leads me to one of my biggest pet peeves in Massage :

“I got a man at home to massage me.”
“Only my husband can massage me.”

Ma’am… your man loves you. ❤️
I’m a trained professional. 😂💆🏻‍♀️

There’s a difference between “baby, rub my shoulders” and knowing anatomy, muscles, movement, pressure and therapeutic technique.
Also I absolutely 💯% will never quit midway and say my turn 😂

So here’s to 12 years of learning, growing, healing, connecting, and doing work that truly lights me up.

12 years later… I’d make the same choice all over again. 🥂💆🏻‍♀️❤️
