As I shamelessly and gratefully reach my mid forties here are some lessons life has taught me that 20 year old me should have listened to.

Although, without life, there would be no lessons.

My dad always said “no sailor learns on calm seas”

Lesson #1. People don’t want to hear you complain. They want positive actions. Bring solutions instead of complaints.

Lesson #2. Make your physical and mental health a priority. Our healthcare system wants to keep us sick with preventable diseases. Back surgery in my 30s was a wake up call to be physically active, even if it’s a 15 minute walk.

Lesson #3. Pay everything you can with cash. Don’t use credit cards unless you can pay it off without getting interest🥴

Lesson #4. If you want to try something new and it scares the crap out of you, GOOD. That’s where growth happens.

Lesson #5. Pay attention to what your algorithm is showing you. Is it negative? Is it gossip? Is it detrimental to my mental health.
