How long have you been natural?
Wow…this month marks 16 YEARS since my healthy hair care journey began! 🥰🙏🏾
You may already know that I was on a Relaxed hair care journey for 8 years, transitioned to natural for 1 1/2 years and have been natural now for 6 1/2 years. ✨
Here’s 22 LESSONS you can learn from my hair journey so far and a few Natural hair journey pics from 2017-2023 for inspiration to help keep you motivated ☺️ I could only select 9 to post here, but you can find lots more on my Instagram page!
1. Do your RESEARCH before getting started.
2. Ensure you have all the TOOLS you need to begin your hair journey.
3. FOLLOW a healthy hair care routine.
4. Remain CONSISTENT no matter what!
5. Regular washing, deep conditioning & moisturising will work WONDERS for your hair.
6. Once you find what works STICK WITH IT
7. Avoid becoming DISTRACTED by what others are doing with their hair.
8. Become OBSESSED with your own hair
9. BELIEVE that you will achieve the results you want!
10. Never STOP learning about your hair
11. LOVE and RESPECT your hair.
12. Trimming your hair won’t make it grow FASTER, but it will help to keep the ends in GREAT condition.
13. SETBACKS may happen (big or small) but don’t allow it to stop you!
14. It’s not the hair care products that grow your hair, but rather how you APPLY those products that makes all the difference!
15. Keep your hair journey interesting by trying NEW and EXCITING things.
16. Hair breakage is INEVITABLE, but don’t make it happen unnecessarily.
17. Drinking plenty of water will help your hair to THRIVE.
18. A healthy DIET is just as important as a healthy hair care ROUTINE!
19. Avoid using TOO much heat.
20. Be PATIENT, because things take time!
21. ENJOY the journey
22. Never GIVE UP on your hair!

Y’all this entire look took about an hour MAX. The hardest thing was putting on these damn lashes lol.
