Wishing you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year! There are some changes as I enter into my 5th year in biz at Sola! I’m looking forward to focusing on my skills and craft with some new hair education planned. I can’t wait to share my hair inspo as well as before & after pics! When booking you may notice that there has been a $5 increase in some services. This will enable me to continue to use high end color and luxury products on your hair. *New products coming! As always, thank you for trusting me with your hair! ✨
This week Maggie and I spent a few hours making some changes. Full head of dimensional color and a custom haircut! Client is shifting from permanent color to grey blending. The goal is a softer and more natural look with less maintenance. ✨💇🏼♀️
Summer can do a number on your hair. The sun and salt can bring lightness you don’t have to cover up but a good cut and fresh color will shine you up! 🍂

lol, I don’t recommend this technique!
A Scotch tape ad from the 1940s.
The ad copy highlights one of its uses: “Fix fringe to forehead with ‘SCOTCH’ Tape and cut across top of tape. Fringe cuts straight, hair trimmings stick to tape—won’t fall in eyes. ‘SCOTCH’ Brand Cellulose Tape is your handiest household helper”.
Scotch tape was invented by a 23-year-old research assistant named Richard Drew who was attempting to make adhesive tape for auto painters. He made the mistake of not adding enough adhesive. When Drew presented it to one of the car painters, he supposedly said, “Why so Scotch with the adhesive?” (In the 1920s, the word scotch was used to mean “cheap”). The name stuck and a brand was born.
Scotch tape was released during the Great Depression and it was an instant hit amongst a populace that wanted to make easy and inexpensive repairs around the house. In the 1940s, the New York Times cited Scotch tape as the perfect tool for “splinting pigeon wings, preparing windows for air raids, resealing envelopes opened by government censors, cropping photo negatives, applying Thanksgiving decorations, getting criminal fingerprints, repairing checks that had been torn up in a rage, affixing lucky pennies to fighter planes and wrapping Christmas gifts.”

This weeks before and after! What we did, grey coverage and blending at roots, highlights placed to balance out color, glaze to add shine and tone. This was a 6 week grow out.

Hello! I am getting ready to head back into my Salon and wanted to share an update!
I’m doing well but still recovering so my days are limited next week. I will do my best to get you in so please put yourself on the waitlist through the booking link if you don’t see an opening.
I appreciate your support and look forward to hearing about what YOU have been up to! This account has been neglected for the past two years while I have been focusing on my Advocacy and Health. At times, I have felt as if I live a double life because I don’t appear to have medical issues. I also have struggled with how much I should be sharing for fear of losing clients trust in my skills. I pride myself on my honesty and openness to share my life and truly love hearing about your lives. I am going to get back to posting here! You will see more hair inspiration, product recommendations and lifestyle suggestions. My account will remain a place where I share more personal details about my health journey and advocacy. Please know that my head and heart are so happy when I am making YOU feel better and doing what I have loved for so many years!
Client Referrals! Nothing is better than a personal recommendation and that is how I built my biz! So please share my name and you both will receive a discount off of your color service.
September 2024
Service Prices will be raised by $5. This is necessary for me to continue to provide quality color and product.
Lots of love and light!

Announcement! As some of you know I have suffered from Endometriosis for the majority of my life. I got involved in CT Legislation two years ago to raise awareness around this under funded systemic disease that affects an estimated 1 in 9 born with a uterus. March is Endometriosis Awareness Month and I am hosting a screening of Below the Belt, a documentary created to create awareness and change in the healthcare. Endometriosis isn’t currently taught in medical school and the delay in diagnosis is 7-10 years. It took me 24 years to get a proper diagnosis. I invite you to join me for a free public event on March 13th at 6pm. https://westportlibrary.org/event/below-the-belt-a-screening-and-panel-discussion/
