Fitness and Nutrition. I meet you where you are and help you towards your goals!

Yeah, so I thoroughly enjoyed my holidays. I ate what I wanted. I had brownies and chocolate for breakfast. Had rice and chips! It was glorious. I spent wonderful time with my family. I am thankful for that. As a result, I was definitely not feeling myself the past few weeks. I knew what I had to do. Instead of just doing some expensive juice cleanse or purchase some supplements for detoxing I can do it myself. For chrissakes, I am a health coach twice over! So I dialed back to the basics. Food. Just food. My approach: just add the good stuff. As Precision Nutrition Coach this is very basic. (Fine tuning and details can come later)

For women: 1 palm protein, 1 handful veggies, 1 cupped palm carbs, 1 thumb of fat.

For men: Double everything above you lucky dogs! :-)

I—we—have everything in my kitchen to do this. I did not cut myself off from anything. Chocolate and chickpea cookie dough was still there! I just ADDED the good plate. And because that was there, other things just fell off. Why? My body was being properly nourished. Lack of nutrients is what throws the body off and brings up our cravings because the body is searching for its nutrients, So give it what it needs. Take it one meal and one day at a time. Wanna know my average calories per day? 1800-2200. Yes, I am a trainer & I workout everyday. I need the calories—the right calories.

It takes 21 days to change a habit. It takes 3 months to make it a lifestyle. Well, I went ‘wild’ for 21 days ironically. The results: tired, lethargic, wonky sleep patterns and paunchy. I said, eff it. “Get your s**t together, Caroleen!” One meal at a time and just keep adding from there. Even if you aim for one meal a week like this. It is moving forward. It does not matter how long it takes. It just matters that you get “there”. If you want to make a change in how you feel—and I do not mean just weightloss——just try a good plate! Aim for 2-4 plates like that a day depending on your eating lifestyle.

Remember, details can be hammered out later. Just start!

I do miss being with you Midtown indoors, in person, in studio! Crossing fingers Tier 3 gets rolled back. And just maybe, we can be together ‘on the Field’, in ‘Ride’ and in the ‘Theatre’. Regardless, keep going. This too shall pass.

So this picture was taken just over two weeks ago. The ever fabulous and talented asked me to take part of . This is her project of photographing 50 women 50 and over. I am so honored to be part of this project. And yes, I turned 52 in June. So yeah, I qualified 😉.

We did this shoot at North Ave Beach a couple weeks ago. Yes, *WE* got Lake Michigan October water for over an hour! The water was exhilarating. 😉. But for probably the first time since ...ever...I felt beautiful, sexy and confident —-and it took 52 years to get there! Katrina made me feel that. Granted, I was awkward . I have to thank Katrina for the honor of being recognized and invited to be on this project. I am ever so humbled and filled with gratitude because Katrina, you made me feel so sexy and confident. And it took me a little while to post this because honestly, I am still not sure that’s me!

In full disclosure, I had my hair done by and it was a gorgeous beachy look—-which will be seen in the final shots at the exhibit. And I did my own makeup. For those of you who know me, I wear minimal so there were false lashes, filled in brows and lip gloss. And with , that was a lot! 😂. So was lucky at this angle 😉.

For real, wait until you see the final shot. This one is a teaser. 😉

The start of a new week. Time to set goals for the week. I am so excited to share some *new* happenings in my world. Stay tuned. Xoxo

Special shout out to who was ‘beach security’ and part-time lighting guy and assistant 🙃

It’s crazy to think the picture on the left is from 8 months ago when came to Chicago. I absolutely loved the event! So much has happened—-to all of us—-since then. I am thankful for the experiences I have had—-whether positive and fun or sad and heart wrenching. What have you felt or learned since then? Where do you want to go with the ‘new normal’. Whatever it is, we can always *pivot* and maybe these events were meant to help us ‘pivot’ or maybe those events were meant to test our strength and focus. Whatever it is, here’s wishing you a strong and amazing rest of 2020. It is ok. We can do this! We can win 2020!

PS: funny note, man, does my tan fade!
