Long before modern wellness trends, nature was already providing what our bodies needed.
The herbs in our gardens and the spices in our kitchens do more than add flavor to food, they tell a story of nourishment, healing, vitality, and natural living.
At Nare Spices, we believe that true wellness isn't about quick fixes. It's about embracing the goodness that nature provides and making intentional choices that support a healthier, more fruitful, and beautiful life.
Today, we celebrate the gifts of nature that have nourished generations and continue to remind us that some of the most powerful solutions are often the most natural.
Healthy, fruitful, beautiful, and naturally.

Do you think that curry powder really came from curry leaf?
Let's see this conversation below, fam.

Imagine saying that every perfume is perfume because it’s called perfume 🤔.
There's always what distinguishes one from the other, which is the fragrance.
The same applies when you say curry is curry because it is in a yellow container.
Some curry powders are earthy while some are either smoky, citrusy, sweet or painfully harsh. Two curry powders can look almost identical and taste completely different because curry powder is NOT one recipe.
Each blend changes depending on the spices used, the ratios, freshness, and even the region it comes from.
And here's something insightful; more turmeric added to it, you get a different taste; more coriander and cumin added, you get a different aroma and if you add mustard seeds, fenugreek, black pepper, or curry leaves, you get an entirely different experience.
So, no curry powder is not one thing, it’s an entire world of spice blending most people never notice.
Got value?
Alright, tell us Nare Spices what you learnt today.
Happy weekend, fam

For years now, I have observed that many Nigerians have called this plant “curry leaf" (kindly check the image below) 👇
The real curry leaf used in Indian cooking is actually a completely different plant. The difference isn’t just the look but in the aroma, flavor, and as well the culinary role it plays.
What many of us use locally is lemon basil, a fragrance on its own, but not the original curry leaf. It has the same nickname yet different plant.
Let me know if you already know this before today in the comment section.

Happy New Month 🤍
May this month bring peace to our hearts, ease to our lives, and growth to everything we’re building ✨
And on a sweet note…
Yesterday, my little Zara (Ginger) clocked 2 months old 🥺💕
Time is really flying.
Here’s to beautiful beginnings and moments worth holding onto 🌿

You bought fresh thyme…then one week later it’s dark, soggy, and smelling suspicious😩
What really happened?
You see most people don’t know thyme spoils fast because of MOISTURE.
Here’s how to preserve it properly 👇
🌿 Remove any bad or wet stalks first
🌿 Wrap the thyme lightly in dry paper towel
🌿 Put it inside a dry container or ziplock bag
🌿 Store in the fridge — NOT soaked in water
Want it to last even longer?
You can:
✅Air-dry it naturally
✅ Blend and freeze with little oil
✅ Store dried thyme in an airtight jar away from heat
This little l kitchen habits can really save you a lot of money and reduce waste.
Oyaa...over to you...
Tell me, how do YOU preserve your thyme at home?
Let's see that in the comment section below 👇
Happy new fam 🥳

If you cook rice, stew, or soup, you’re probably making this mistake with thyme.
Let me explain that in the comment section

Thyme is one of those small kitchen herbs with powerful traditional use and natural compounds like carvacrol and antioxidants that have been studied for their role in general wellness support.
From supporting comfort during seasonal colds to being traditionally linked with heart and metabolic wellness, thyme has always been more than a flavour.
But here’s the real point; you don’t need more seasoning, all you need is intentional seasoning.
Now, tell me,
Most of the time you season your food, do you really understand what you’re using? (Let's see your answers in the comment section).
Remember, at Nare Spices, we don’t just talk about flavour, we talk about awareness in your healthy eating and cooking.

Thyme is a fragrant herb packed with natural compounds like thymol and carvacrol, known for their strong antibacterial and antiviral properties.
It helps the body to support the immune system during cold and flu season, soothe coughs and respiratory discomfort, aid digestion and reduce bloating, provide natural antioxidant protection against cell damage and beyond health, thyme is a kitchen essential that adds depth, warmth, and aroma to soups, stews, meats, and herbal teas.
I know you wouldn't want to miss this series of insight that we will be centering on THYME this week.
