✨🍽️ π•‚π•–π•–π•‘π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ π•šπ•₯ ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕝—What I Ate in a day! 🍽️✨

✨🍴Here’s the lineup for yesterday’s eats – I tried keeping it simple, tasty, and bariatric-friendly, also with minimum preparation time due to busy schedule at work: 🍴✨

πŸŒŸπ”Ήπ•£π•–π•’π•œπ•—π•’π•€π•₯: Starting the day strong with CafΓ© Latte β˜•οΈβ€”because coffee and protein? Yes, please.
πŸŒŸπ•ƒπ•¦π•Ÿπ•”π•™: Veggie vibes πŸ₯•πŸ₯¦ with fat-free .valley ranch for that perfect dip moment.
πŸŒŸπ”»π•šπ•Ÿπ•Ÿπ•–π•£: Grilled chicken salad πŸ₯— with a little fancy touch of pomegranate seeds and Cilantro Avocado dressing (because life’s better with a drizzle).
πŸŒŸπ•Šπ•Ÿπ•’π•”π•œ: Chicken breast bites πŸ—β€”aka protein you don’t have to think twice about. It’s one of my favorite finds.

βœ¨πŸ’§πŸ’¦π•Žπ•’π•₯𝕖𝕣 was the real 𝕄𝕍ℙ todayβ€”it kept me hydrated, full, and focused. Anytime I felt hungry, I just chugged some water and moved on πŸ˜‚. (And I almost made my hydration goal)πŸ’¦πŸ’§βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ½οΈπ”»π• π•¨π•Ÿπ•€π•šπ••π•–: Lunch was supposed to be just a snack, but work got so crazy it turned into my actual lunch. Whoops. πŸ˜… Gotta love a busy day, right? Who else has been there πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

✨🍽️ π•Œπ•‘π•€π•šπ••π•–: Nothing fancy, just quick, easy and kept me feeling good and on track. πŸ™Œ

βœ¨πŸ¦‹What’s one thing you ate this week that you loved? I am looking for ideas to stay full and on trackβ€”Share with me below! πŸ‘‡βœ¨

Life happened, and yep, the scale has crept up a bit. I am currently 24.8 pounds above my lowest post-surgery weight, and I would be lying if I said that didn’t frustrate me. But the first step to getting back on track? Facing the truth and embracing it.πŸƒβœ¨

βœ¨πŸƒI read a quote that hit home: β€œπ•‹π•™π•– π••π•–π•˜π•£π•–π•– π•₯𝕠 π•¨π•™π•šπ•”π•™ 𝕒 π•‘π•–π•£π•€π• π•Ÿ π•”π•’π•Ÿ π•˜π•£π• π•¨ π•šπ•€ π•šπ•Ÿ π••π•šπ•£π•–π•”π•₯ 𝕑𝕣𝕠𝕑𝕠𝕣π•₯π•šπ• π•Ÿ π•₯𝕠 π•₯𝕙𝕖 π•’π•žπ• π•¦π•Ÿπ•₯ 𝕠𝕗 π•₯𝕣𝕦π•₯𝕙 π•₯𝕙𝕖π•ͺ π•”π•’π•Ÿ 𝕒𝕔𝕔𝕖𝕑π•₯ 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦π•₯ π•₯π•™π•–π•žπ•€π•–π•π•§π•–π•€ π•¨π•šπ•₯𝕙𝕠𝕦π•₯ π•£π•¦π•Ÿπ•Ÿπ•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ 𝕒𝕨𝕒π•ͺ.” And I am here, not running anywhere.πŸƒβœ¨

βœ¨πŸƒI had not done a face-to-face comparison pictures in a while because, honestly, part of me felt like I was back to my pre-surgery days. But looking at the pics side-by-side has been encouragingβ€”I might have gained some weight, but I’ve kept my confidence and my determination to get back on track. Here’s to the journey, the truth, and all the growth ahead! πŸƒβœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ Reflecting on my journey, I realize how important it is to give yourself time. It’s easy to get caught up in the desire for quick results, but true transformation takes patience and perseverance. Now three years post-op, I’m still working towards my goal weight, and that’s perfectly okay. Progress is not always visible on the scale but felt in our hearts and minds. πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ My journey has taught me to celebrate every small victory and non-scale victory (NSV). The confidence, energy, and joy I’ve gained are invaluable. Remember, it’s not just about the destination but the journey itself. Keep going, believe in yourself, and embrace every moment. πŸ¦‹βœ¨

✨🍽️ ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕π•ͺ π•₯𝕠 π•žπ•’π•œπ•– π•žπ•–π•’π• π•‘π•£π•–π•‘π•‘π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ 𝕒 𝕓𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕫𝕖?β€”Here are my top 10 tips to simplify your meal prep and keep you on track with your weight loss goals! 🍽️✨

1️⃣ β„™π•π•’π•Ÿ 𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 π•„π•–π•Ÿπ•¦β€”Choose simple, versatile recipes you enjoy. This minimizes decision fatigue and ensures you look forward to your meals.

2️⃣ 𝔾𝕣𝕠𝕔𝕖𝕣π•ͺ π•ƒπ•šπ•€π•₯β€”Make a detailed shopping list to avoid unnecessary trips to the store. Group items by category to save time and ✨don’t shop when hungry πŸ˜‚βœ¨

3️⃣ 𝔹𝕒π•₯𝕔𝕙 β„‚π• π• π•œπ•šπ•Ÿπ•˜β€”Cook in bulk. Prepare large quantities of staples like grains, proteins, and veggies to mix and match throughout the week.

4️⃣ ℙ𝕣𝕖-ℂ𝕙𝕠𝕑 π•π•–π•˜π•˜π•šπ•–π•€β€”Spend time chopping vegetables in advance. Store them in airtight containers to keep them fresh and ready to use.

5️⃣ π•Œπ•€π•– π•₯𝕙𝕖 π•£π•šπ•˜π•™π•₯ β„‚π• π•Ÿπ•₯π•’π•šπ•Ÿπ•–π•£π•€β€”Invest in high-quality, stackable containers. This helps keep your fridge organized and your meals fresh.

6️⃣ 𝔽𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕫𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕃𝕒π•₯𝕖𝕣—Freeze portions of meals that you won’t eat right away. This is perfect for those days when you don’t feel like cooking.

7️⃣ π•Šπ•šπ•žπ•‘π•π•šπ•—π•ͺ π•Šπ•–π•’π•€π• π•Ÿπ•šπ•Ÿπ•˜π•€β€”Use a few go-to seasonings that work for multiple dishes. This keeps the flavors exciting without complicating the prep process. I only use basicβ€”salt, pepper, red chili powder and Italian seasoning on most.

8️⃣ 𝕄𝕦𝕝π•₯π•šπ•₯π•’π•€π•œβ€”While something is baking, you can be chopping, mixing, or cooking something else. Efficient use of your time is key. One pan recipes are great.

9️⃣ 𝕃𝕒𝕓𝕖𝕝 𝔼𝕧𝕖𝕣π•ͺπ•₯π•™π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜β€”Label your containers with the meal name and date. This helps you keep track of what needs to be eaten first.

πŸ”Ÿ β„‚π•π•–π•’π•Ÿ 𝔸𝕀 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝔾𝕠—Tidy up while you cook to avoid a huge mess at the end. It makes the process less overwhelming and more enjoyable.

✨🍽️Happy prepping! πŸ₯—β€”If you would like detailed recipes comments below ⬇️ β€œRecipe” and I will DM you the details.🍽️✨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ 𝕀π•₯𝕀 𝕒 ℍ𝕒𝕑𝕑π•ͺ/π•Šπ•’π•• 𝕑𝕠𝕀π•₯β€”I am currently fostering 3 beautiful cats. Each one has a unique story of survival but one thing each of them have in come is how much I have gotten attached to them in last few weeks. I have cared for them, saw them gain strength and be their unique selves. Now one of my foster is ready for adoption πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ This is Drakeβ€”he is sweet 9 month old boy, always looking for cuddles and ready to play. He loves greeting everyone at the door, waiting for me to hold him upside down like a baby. No matter what he is doing he always stops everything when I am near. He is great with everyone, including our two dogs. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy drake is perfect for you πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ I am happy, excited and sad at the same time. It’s my fist time fostering and my very first foster up for adoption. I want to keep Drake all for myself since he is such a sweet boy. But I keep reminding myself that if I fail to do this right than I won’t be able to help more fosters in the futureπŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹ If you would like to meet this sweetheart, he will be at the adoption event at in Naperville organized by tomorrow Nov 5th, 2023. Drake’s profile is also up on ARF’s website. Please share so he gets more visibility in finding his forever home πŸ‘πŸ¦‹βœ¨

What I have realized is to lose weight you have to be disciplined with your food and strive to have a balanced diet🧿✨

✨🧿 I now exercise to get stronger by building muscles and my endurance. It has helped my body to be more flexible, so that I can enjoy a lot of the daily routine activities pain free, this realization has been part of my weight loss journey and some days requires constant conscious reminders 🧿✨

✨🧿 In stead of relying on exercise as source of losing weight, my main focus now has been on all the benefits of exercising:

πŸ’ͺit boosts my mood
πŸ’ͺit strengthens my heart & bones
πŸ’ͺit helps me stay focus
πŸ’ͺit decreases my stress level
πŸ’ͺit helps me maintain my mobility
πŸ’ͺit helps me able to enjoy all the wonderful adventures during my travels pain-free
πŸ’ͺit improves my coordination
πŸ’ͺit detoxifies my body
πŸ’ͺit helps me maintain my blood pressure
πŸ’ͺand most importantly it helps me manage chronic pain & fatigue

✨🧿 The last one is the most important for me, I always avoided exercise thinking I am so tired and it will only make me feel horrible. I have realized that days I exercise I have more energy and my day is more productive than on days I skip. No wonder there are so many people addicted to their gym routine. Most days I am not happy to head out to the gym but almost every time I do I am glad that I did 🧿✨

✨🧿 To help me keep my gym routine I have joined orange theory, if I skip any class I have to pay extra penaltyπŸ’° which helps me stay on track πŸ˜‚. How do you manage your exercise πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ schedule?? 🧿✨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹β„π•–π•π•π•  π•„π• π•Ÿπ••π•’π•ͺβ€”I am struggling to say the least. Last few months have been very difficult at work, my team is under staff and I have been doing multiple people’s work. Late nights and long days at work with hardly any break or time to think about anything other than the deadlines for year end close πŸ₯ΉπŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹This is how I got to the point of needing a surgery and I can see the history repeating again, slowly my weight has been creeping upβ€” sitting down in front of the computer for 10 or 12 hours with bare minimum activity has not been good. I have noticed some mindlessness eating just because the old habits have kicked inπŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹It’s time to tackle old habits with a new mindsetβ€” I am hoping to replace old habits with positive new ones that help me enforce boundaries, limits and focus on my goal. For starters I need to join a gym or some program that keeps me moving, I need to learn to make time for myself and my health againπŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹I am strugglingβ€” but I have not given upβ€” not yet, not now, not today or anytime soon. I am a work in progress and I will continue to put my health first πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹I have started meal prepping to help me in the food department. Now I need some recommendations to get my body moving againβ€”happy Monday let’s crush this week πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹I absolutely love thisβ€”if I could go back in time and can give myself one advice it would be this. π”Ύπ•šπ•§π•– π•ͺ𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕀𝕖𝕝𝕗 π•₯π•šπ•žπ•–β€”nothing can be achieved in a day. Start the journey with no expectations, but only desire to never give up and keep working towards your goals. No matter how hard or unattainable it may seemβ€”just keep pushing forward. I am almost two years post op and I have not really made my goal weight yetβ€”key word is β€œYETβ€πŸ¦‹βœ¨

βœ¨πŸ¦‹Although I have not yet made my goal weightβ€”I have achieved so much more than physically visible. The gift of a healthy body never gets old and the NSVs along the way make it all worthwhileπŸ¦‹βœ¨

I am thinking that I maybe losing water weight hereβ€”but as long as the scale is moving I am not complainingπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I have taken Phentermine long time ago as part of my many many failed attempts to lose weight before I had the Bariatric surgery. It worked well for me I was able to lose 20 lbs but once I stopped I regained everything back. That was my only reservation with starting any medication right now was, I don’t want to go back to my old ways. But I am almost two years post op, based on conversations with my doctor this should help me manage the hunger part so I am able to lose another 40 lbs that I need to be at a healthy BMI for my body type✨
