As I mentioned in a recent post, Tropic products do NOT contain toxins, and for very good reason. Our bodies ABSORB what we put on our skin! Let me start with parabens and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). There are lots more too!

I am not saying this to scare you. But many people ask why I want to use natural products. I spoke about all the reasons in a previous post, but the fact that I don’t want to use toxins such as these is a massive reason. You can see from the images in my post the concerns. I do not want to put this stuff on my skin!

So finding Tropic products, and being able to use them without the concerns of having toxins entering my bloodstream is a huge deal to me. ✨RESULTS ✨ I feel so much more confident in my skin having used Super Greens oil so *deep breath* I’m sharing photos I NEVER would have 🤍. My skin had a massive breakout (it got worse than the before pics too) - my hormones finally coming to life after a long time breastfeeding - and the spots got very sore, irritated and so itchy. I decided to start using Super Greens oil. I noticed a difference within a couple of weeks 🎉! My skin really calmed down, the redness improved and my spots stopped being itchy and then healed. As you can see now, my skin has improved so much! And check out how well it absorbs in the last photo!!

This oil is incredible for irritated skin to soothe and also to help heal and reduce scarring. It can be used daily or people have even seen results with including it in their routine a couple of times a week!

One of my favourites that I’ve discovered relatively recently is the Super Greens oil. I’d only used it a handful of times but am now using it religiously. And that’s because I had a bad breakout (hormones due to breastfeeding) and my spots were just really itchy. So I thought I’d try this - and it really did soothe my spots and calmed the redness 🤍.

Now I use it daily for a nutrient boost, to help scarring from spots, to brighten and to protect my skin 💫. It absorbs brilliantly - for an oil it’s really not greasy at all and super light. It has broccoli, kale, avocado, tamanu, packed with vitamins and antioxidants, it smells earthy and herby! Sounds weird to say but you can tell it’s healthy and I love applying it for that reason 😆🌿. I really can’t recommend it enough!!

🌱WHY CHOOSE NATURAL🌱? Our skin absorbs what we put on it - it’s reported that 60% of the chemicals end up in our bloodstream and build up in our bodies. Research showed that women on average can have 515 different synthetic chemicals on her body due to her personal care routine 😱!! Another study showed though that stopping using these toxin containing products quickly reduces the toxic load in the body (Berkeley study). So don’t worry, it’s not too late!!

And just a note. Many brands state they are natural or plant based but always check the ingredients and you’ll often find a lot of nasties in there too! Clever marketing. It’s Firework Night tonight 💥 and I saw a post about being careful if you use paraffin based emollients, which many people do (it’s everywhere!). We certainly were prescribed it for Arthur’s eczema. The fact it basically made Arthur a walking fire hazard is exactly why we didn’t like to use it among other reasons (and we soon realised it didn’t help his skin anyway!!). It’s a fire hazard as it’s highly flammable when there is residue on clothes etc - which for us there was certainly residue! Try applying it multiple times a day and not getting it on any clothing!! This is yet another reason why we really wanted to find a cream that was not only natural, but one we felt completely SAFE in using on our precious baby’s skin 🤍!! The fact there is a page on the Government website warning about it just honestly gives me the shivers! An article by states that yes many people use creams safely, and on the skin itself is not a fire hazard. Yet the fire risk is there if you were to go near a flame, a cigarette with it on your clothes... It’s HIGHLY flammable.

Paraffin is also not a good ingredient for skin conditions as it can cause irritation, it smells awful so perfumes are often used too, it locks in dirt so can cause bacterial infection, and there are concerns that as it forms a barrier it could hinder skin’s ability to regenerate and function normally!! It also is not sustainable or environmentally friendly (Ref Balmonds).
