Comparisonitis is kicking!

Not terribly long ago I nailed down exactly who I want to work with and why when I launch my Coaching venture next year. **

Story Time.

I follow a very successful Somatic Coach on IG. I've loved the thought glimmers that happen with their posts. I've also been in trainings with this person and have witnessed the absolute train wreck of their personal and professional off-social life. Fully publicly admitted so no secret sharing here.

I've watched them have business crisis after business crisis trying to figure out where their next level of coaching is going to rise.

One guess where they've landed.

Yep. What I chose and have been building in the background for months.

So, here I am getting all the ick of comparisonitis as they start building their thought leadership. Because it is eerily similar. And they have a large following of dedicated fans that will eat it up.

Logical Brain understands that there is no true comparison. Nobody is just like you with your unique thoughts, experiences, and views. Same topic and similar offerings does not create the same end result.

Emotional Brain says everything is pointless and they will obviously do it better than you so why even try. Dramatic.

Completely Human with Darkened Cynical Edges Brain says 'meh' they'll change their mind in 2.5 months like every other time and completely F it up. So, sit back and watch the train wreck burn.

It's wild to be aware of. I'm sure you've been there and experienced similar comparisonitis in your ventures.

I'm in the weird space of wanting to watch it play out while also wanting to unfollow to avoid any influence.

P.S. Logical Brain is on point. Listen to it.

** Yes, finally officially doing it. I became a Life Coach in 2015 not to 'Coach', but to understand and listen more deeply. 11 years later and I've only gone deeper into it all.

Hypnosis and Neurosomatic Mapping are once again dominating the schedule.

Mental Wellness coupled with Neurowellness.

Soma. Cognition. Emotion.

The body has a reaction. The mind sorts and labels. Emotion is coupled with physical sensation.

This is Nervous System work at calibrated depth.

Neurosomatic Mapping is in-office only. It's highly interactive exploring connections of past experiences contributing to a current state of being. Best suited for the puzzle solvers that like to know things.

Hypnosis aka Subconscious Reprogramming is mostly online. Deep gentle exploration of prominent feeling, beliefs, and experiences that still hold negative emotional charge. A relaxing guided experience where you surrender to your inner resources. Best for those that don't need the details.

Keeping it real as always, neither will 'make' you do anything. Let's not surrender agency.

These methods help clear internal conflict in order to lessen Nervous System response and gain greater mental clarity. You make things happen. You choose to change your current state and future you.

Under Emotional Processing on the schedule.

Practitioners using muscle testing and working with student athletes...

Please make sure you are testing them with and without their gear on to stabilize Nervous System Response.

We're hitting that time of year where sports transition. Different gear gives the Nervous System different opportunities to compensate.

Simply putting on a different pair of shoes may change tests.

Test in position. Get them up on their feet performing the most common movements in their sport and position.

K thanks.

Many thanks to the newest Nervvy Neuronerds that joined the Zoom workshop today!

4 hours. All the info. So. Many. Tangents.

You all asked excellent questions and I'm honored you took the time to participate today.

Take what resonated. Leave behind what didn't.

Trust that the Nervous System will guide you to best outcome for your clients.

Stay curious.

Surgery isn't the cure-all so many think it is.

1. It doesn't fix all the compensations that had been in place prior to surgery. This could be years worth of movement patterns stacked up from the original cause. Yes, that forever ago injury that was 'taken care of, no big deal' and 'has nothing to do with it'. The Nervous System holds a grudge.

2. It does nothing to prevent all the compensations that will develop as a result of the surgery. ESPECIALLY if there are new parts. This is 'alien' to the Nervous System and adaptations will happen.

I'm not anti-surgery and surgeries are there when we need them. There's more to it though.

And lately, I've had an influx of clients that have built up the surgeries.

This is not a 1-3 session and call it good experience. This is time and effort. And, very likely, a commitment to a maintenance schedule to fit the lifestyle you want.

This concludes my rant.

Go about your day and be an awesome human.

I don't actively market my Functional Neurology practice anymore.

When I posted frequently and wrote blogs about the work, my practice was often booked out 3-4 months with no wiggle room.

Honestly, it was suffocating.

"I understand that you're in a lot of pain and none of the trad methods are helping, but I can't see you until 14 weeks from now."

And if they didn't follow instructions and immediately book their 3-4 follow ups? Another 12-14 weeks.

Terrible.

I stopped. And things slowed down.

Now it's mostly by referral. And the occasional 'found you on Google'. Which is terrifying. Like... do you know what you're in for?

I post when something sparks. I share when inspired. And I'm posting now, because I'm sensing the shift. You'll be seeing less of me here with the manual therapy side. But I'm still seeing clients in person. The schedule is still active.

Have an amazing week.
