Did you know that you could have sensitive skin and not even know it?
You're probably thinking duhhh Chloe of course I would know something like that🙄
And I thought so too! But recently I've met a growing number of people who tell me..
"My skin is always itchy"
"I keep getting a weird rash on my skin"
"I go all blotchy and itchy when I've been in the shower"
"I have itchy, dry patches on my skin"
"No matter what I do I can't get rid of my dandruff"
✨Do any of these ring true for you?
If so, your skin could be more sensitive than you think!
So what actually IS sensitive skin?
Your body creates an inflammatory response to external (and sometimes internal) stimuli. So basically your skin throws a hissyfit when certain things touch it..
This manifests in a few different ways but the most common are eczema, rashes, red blotchy skin, extreme dryness and acne.
If you suffer with any of these things, take a look at the products that you're using, and check the ingredients for harsh chemicals and parfum/fragrance..
here are some examples of products that cause a reaction for me
✨shampoo and conditioner
✨makeup remover
✨moisturiser
✨laundry detergent
✨shaving foam
✨shower gel
✨bath bombs
& more!
If you think your skin may be reacting to the products you use,

Happy Full Moon Ya'll 🌕
If it seemed like I was a MIA this month, it's because I was 😅
I took a much needed break from Sage & Lily socials and spent some time thinking about why I started this business in the first place.
The short story is that I have had sensitive skin my whole life. I could never use bath bombs, shower gel, most moisturisers..all the fun stuff. I even react to shampoo & conditioner!
I eventually after many LONG years learned that it was the chemicals that are in products that were causing my skin to react. That's when I started studying herbalism and began making skincare & self-care products for myself.
I was loving my products, my skin wasn't reacting and I thought.. This could potentially help others too!
Voila, Sage & Lily was born ✨
Imposter syndrome is a thing that I think every small business owner deals with, but after consistently getting such amazing feedback from clients and customers this past year, I now feel like I'm truly serving my community💚
So I'll be here (more consistently) in my corner of the internet trying to solve all of our sensitive skin issues 🙋♀️

🌟 NEW/OLD PRODUCT 🌟
If you've been following the journey of since we started back in Canada, you will definitely recognise this AMAZING product 💫
One of our bestsellers, with absolutely GLOWING reviews ✨
The OG is a smok!ng blend / tea / lung steam that I created initially as a replacement for t0bacc0 for those who smoke da 'erb 🌿
The blend;
🌿Mullein
🌿Lavender
🌿Skullcap
It promotes healthy lung function, relaxes the body and relieves anxiety and nervous tension and convulsions.
Mullein is an expectorant, mucilaginous herb which means that it encourages healthy mucus production in the lungs.
It soothes coughs (especially dry coughs), asthma and helps to clear out the respiratory system.
Smok!ng a blend like this instead of t0bacc0 is a much healthier alternative, and stops that pesky cough that comes with da 'erb.
This blend would also be extremely soothing to those suffering with respiratory covid symptoms as a tea or a lung steam ✨
The OG will be available for pre-order over the next few days!

✨Happy 2022 Ya'll✨
I didn't mean to post & ghost like the ghost of Christmas past,
BUT I decided to take a break from posting on socials because that s**t is good for your mental health 💫
There's a few new faces so I thought I'd better reintroduce myself 🤗
Hey girl hey! I'm Chloe 🙋♀️
I founded Sage & Lily at the start of 2021 when I was living in Whistler, Canada. And launched in the UK just 2.5 months ago! 🇬🇧
I've struggled with sensitive skin & frequent acne since I was a kid. So after really finding my connection to nature while in Canada, I trained in herbalism and made my own herbal oils for skin and tea & smoking blends to support my overall health. And I thought.. other people could really benefit from this too! And voila, Sage & Lily was born ✨
I'm super excited for this year & all the new offerings I'm planning for you 🌟

There are many different types of herbalism, spanning many countries & cultures 🌿
I practice holistic herbalism; treating whole people with whole plants 🍃
At it's core, this practice is rooted in the idea that we ARE nature, and when we become disconnected from that truth, we fall ill.
Many, but certainly not all, illnesses and ailments arise due to the lifestyle of the individual. Which is why in holistic herbalism, its not JUST about plants.
Nobody has a herb deficiency! Plants are simply a tool to align ourselves to our true constitution*, regulate our organ systems & bring stability to an unbalanced mind & body.
In order to experience true healing, we must make sustainable changes to our lifestyle.
Sounds like work right?
It is. It's hard work, but the truth is that it takes hard work and conscious change to tackle the ✨ root cause ✨ of our problems.
For example, let's say you suffer with acne. You may learn that many skincare ingredients actually CAUSE acne, so you make the switch to natural products 💫YAY💫.
Although your acne starts to clear up, you become frustrated that it will not heal entirely.. But what conscious changes did you make to tackle to CAUSE of the acne?
🍭Did you cut down/eliminate your dairy or sugar intake?
🍔Did you eat unhealthy food?
💧Did you drink enough water to keep your skin hydrated?
🍺Did you drink alot of alcohol?
Without considering the wholeness of yourself and your lifestyle, all you can do is put a plaster on the booboo and hope for the best.
Like this post if you made it to the end 💫
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk x

Bearberry Leaves / Uva Ursi 🌿
Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antiviral 💚
The leaves of the bearberry plant contain a chemical called arbutin 🍃
Arbutin brightens skin by blocking an enzyme called tyrosinase that produces melanin—the brown pigment in skin.
Melanin is the skin's natural form of protection against the sun, but exposure to UV rays, scarring, and hormone changes can cause overproduction of melanin, leading to dark spots. These chemicals can stop the process, and within a few weeks, new skin cells will be a more even colour✨
Bearberry also contains diuretic phytochemicals, including ursolic acid and allantoin which helps to promote the growth of healthy new cells and the healing of wounds.
Internally Bearberry leaves are used to treat urinary tract, bladder and intestinal infections, such as cystitis. Its high tannin content can be effective in the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery.
Bearberry leaves are one of the plants that are infused in to the Alchemy Skin Elixir ✨
🔴Bearberry leaves should not be used during pregnancy and are not recommended for children.

There seems to be a misconception that plants aren't effective healers and that natural products don't work..
INCORRECT.
Plants have an ABUNDANCE of healing properties, which is why they've been used to treat people for thousands of years ✨
Our modern medicine practice comes from herbalism. Many of the prescriptions that people use today, are derived from plants or the chemical constituents/compounds they're comprised of 🌿
Where holistic herbalism differs from modern medicine, is that pharmaceuticals tend to isolate certain compounds within a plant, and use that a basis for treatment.
For example, CBD is a widely studied cannabinoid found in cannabis. It has a whole host of medicinal properties, including being analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety.
Holistic herbalism however, recognises that there at 80-100 cannabinoids that all work together to make cannabis a wonderfully medicinal plant. This applies to all plants, which is why we use whole plants to treat whole people 🍃
Moral of the story, nature is an effective healer. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!✨
