Sun damage is CUMULATIVE over a lifetime. While it is important to use sunscreen when in direct sunlight, the real damage comes from the small but continuous exposure to UV light.
Think about your basic day. Even during this crazy time when we are home, you still walk to the mail box, go for a walk, go for a ride, run errands, and even if you are indoors, you sit by a window. UVA rays from the sun go through glass, so you get UVA exposure when driving or sitting at home.
This is called AMBIENT SUN EXPOSURE. This short exposure times over the years can add up to a lot of free radicals (which can alter your cellular DNA) and a lot of sun damage.
The easiest way to prevent this is to get in the habit of applying sunscreen every morning as part of your skincare routine.

*One online consultation ($65 which you get back in products). This client started only 3 weeks ago. Everything that touched her skin felt like her skin was “burning.”

*We focused on repairing her skin barrier with appropriate products and supplements.

*After her first online consult, there were numerous texts back and forward to answer questions, adjust home care and plenty of information so she would understand and get to know her skin (all free as part of her one online consult)

*The results are a healthier and younger skin. This is only 3 weeks apart . The improvement will continue. Needless to say she is super happy and SO AM I!! Her husband even commented on her skin without being asked 😊

Do you think you can’t afford to go to an esthetician?

I want to challenge you to add up all the money you have spent on products that are just taking up space in your bathroom because you used it for a little bit and then stopped because you did’t like it or just didn’t know if it was working for you. Or even worse, they dried you out or made you breakout.

Every time you see someone on IG with a filter, you ask…..what is your skincare routine. Well, filters are not skincare! And what works for them is probably not going to work for you. Your skin type and condition are unique for you. Your lifestyle, your goals are different from theirs.

The price of the consultation will go towards products.

DM me or email me @yahoo.com and let’s get started.

Makeup wipes’ main purpose is to clean your skin….and they don’t even do that.

* Makeup wipes do not do a thorough job at cleaning your skin or even removing your makeup. They leave behind a lot of makeup and grime. They simply smear around makeup, dirt, and leave behind irritated skin. Because you are not rinsing with water, you are leaving active cleansing ingredients on your skin, causing havoc on your skin barrier and creating sensitized skin.

* Because of their packaging, they contain added ingredients to increase shelf live, so you are exposing your skin to allergen and sensitizing ingredients causing inflammation (aka aging!)

* They are not Ph balanced, so they disrupt your skin’s natural barrier, causing irritation, dehydration, inflammation AGING

* THEY ARE BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

In case of EMERGENCY ….and I am not talking about “I had too much wine” “ I am tired” I don’t feel like it” “water is too cold” type of excuses…..but true emergency like there is not water, you can use Micellar water instead (occasionally!)

Healthy skin takes commitment! Take the time to do a double cleanse with a gentle Ph balance cleanser.

The 3 staples in your skincare routine should include Vitamin C, Retinol and Spf.

* Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects your skin from free radicals that can damage skin cells resulting in accelerated aging , dehydration and uneven pigmentation. Vitamin C also stimulates collagen.
* Retinol (Vitamin A) increases cell turn over, fades dark spots, helps clear acne, stimulates collage helping with fine lines and wrinkles.
* SPF: protects our skin against the #1 aging factor UVB and UVA.

AND…..

Having a good, positive attitude towards other women, empowering them, celebrating their accomplishments is just AWESOME. We have enough uphill battles in this world. We don’t need to put each other down, criticize each other….we have enough people doing that already. Let’s celebrate strong, powerful, bad ass women!

I know it sounds basic and common sense….but how many of us really do this every time we wash our face?

AND use a CLEAN towel to dry your face….again, common sense……but do you do this every time?

Our skin is affected by stress, food, environment, hormones, makeup, skincare, and so many other factors…..did I mention STRESS????

Adding to that, we get bombarded every day by posts of people using filters. We are getting the idea that our skin should be flawless and even poreless! Our expectations are becoming unrealistic and unattainable.

As an esthetician, I have been guilty of being too hard on myself. Feeling horrible when I break out, trying to get rid of every brown spot, every fine line, every imperfection. What we end up doing is over treating our skin, picking , not respecting the natural healing process and making things worse.

So if you want to improve your skin, don’t try to do it your self, don’t listen to IG “influencers” don’t expect overnight miracles. Go to a professional and follow his/her advice. And know that it takes time.

So take a deep breath and remember that those filters are not reality, and that your skin is a reflection of your health and your environment. Treat it right. And love the skin you in!

* There is no secret that collagen production decreases with age
* Collagen is synthesized by our body using vitamin C and the amino acids Proline and Glycine
* Amino Acids Proline and Glycine are nonessential amino acids , meaning our body makes them and do not need to come from food.
* Collagen is a protein, and like all proteins, is broken down after digestion….think about that when you are having a collagen powder smoothie
* Increasing Vitamin C intake (orally and topically) boosts type I collagen production and assists in antioxidant protection against UV-induced aging
* In addition, Vitamin C is necessary for the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, which is essential to maintaining moisturized skin and aids in recovery time and joint pain.
* So put that collagen smoothie down, grab your vitamin C serum, and eat plenty of vegetables.

•Fall is almost here..... and besides being my favorite season ..... it’s also the best time to do PEELS!

•After a summer full of sun and fun, it’s time to reverse some of the damage of uv rays.

•They are great for addressing pigmentation (brown spots), fine lines and wrinkles, texture, scaring, acne .... and many other skin conditions.

•Peels should be progressive and customized. A series of weekly or by weekly peels are an amazing treatment option for the fall!

* Our top layer of the skin (stratum corneum) is very much alive! It was previously thought that this layer of the skin was composed of dead cells, and its continued exfoliation, over processing and injury was a desire treatment. * We now know that the health of stratum corneum is imperative for healthy skin. It has a crucial role in providing protection against dehydration, pe*******on of germs, allergens, irritants, oxidative radicals, and UV radiation. * Overexposure to UV, disease, treatments such as Microdermabrasion, lasers, excessive and strong peels, compromise the health and function of our stratum corneum, and therefore causing irritation, dehydration, wrinkles, and glycation . * Healthy skin should be the number one goal of skin treatments. After achieving a healthy barrier, then and only then, a progressive (not aggressive) approach should be taken for corrective treatments.
