Sergeant Fannie Nkosi arrested on Fi****ms Charges

Controversial South African Police Service (SAPS) Sergeant Fannie Nkosi has been taken into custody and faces criminal charges after fi****ms and ammunition were allegedly found in his possession, reportedly linked to his brotherโ€™s security company.

Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee reported today, Friday that Nkosi was handcuffed and transported to a police station. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, following the Easter weekend.

A search-and-seizure warrant was executed at Nkosiโ€™s home in Pretoria North earlier this week as part of ongoing investigations. A notice of rights document issued to โ€œFannie Hercules Nkosiโ€ lists charges including defeating the ends of justice, theft, possession of unlicensed ammunition under the Fi****ms Control Act, and possession of a stun gr***de or unlicensed explosive under the Explosives Act.

Nkosi, attached to the Gauteng Organised Crime Unit, rose to prominence in recent weeks as โ€œWitness Fโ€ at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He testified at length about alleged ties between senior police officers and organised crime figures in the taxi industry. His evidence included claims of information-sharing with suspects and other irregularities, drawing intense scrutiny from commissioners and public attention.

SAPS has confirmed the operation but has not yet released further official details about the investigation or any additional items seized.

In a shocking turn of events, a family in Kwazulu Natal brought a deceased body to a Capitec bank branch as proof of death. Today, chaos broke out in the Stanger CBD after a dramatic dispute at Capitec Bank led to the branch's closure and a complete standstill in local business. Witnesses report that a family seeking to claim life insurance and funeral policy funds was asked to provide proof of death. The building was evacuated rapidly, with the branch closing immediately, and police stepping in to temporarily shut down the surrounding area.
