Ask what support is wanted. Listen to the answer. Respect the person behind the routine.

Dignified continence care is not only about choosing a product. It is also about privacy, preferences, and involving someone in decisions about their own care.

Three small words can shape a better experience: ask, listen, respect.

“What would make this easier for you?”

When you’re supporting someone with continence care, asking can be more helpful than assuming. Preferences around privacy, products, routines, and assistance are personal, and they may change over time.

Start with the question. Then listen.

Pad or pants? Start with your routine.

Pads are worn with your own underwear and may suit people looking for a discreet option. Pull-up pants offer underwear-like protection with more coverage. Your body, level of leakage, mobility, and preferences can all shape the choice.

Does your skin feel comfortable?

It’s a simple question, but an important one. Skin exposed to moisture may need gentle cleansing, protection, and regular attention as part of continence care.

Build the question into your own routine, or use it to start a respectful conversation with someone you care for.
