Su***de prevention is about more than what happens in a crisis. Real prevention starts much earlier than that. It’s making sure people can actually afford to live. It’s access to proper mental health care before someone reaches crisis point. It’s stable housing, enough money to survive, support that doesn’t take months to access, and a world where people don’t feel like they have to carry everything alone just to make it through the week.

A lot of people are not weak, attention-seeking, or “giving up.” They are overwhelmed. Tired in ways that don’t always show on the outside. And real prevention means creating a world where people feel supported before they are at breaking point, not only afterwards.

People need compassion, but they also need access to care, stability, safety, community, and the feeling that their life matters while they are still here to hear it.
