Yesterday, we successfully held a community sensitization meeting in Kanjala Ward, bringing together YDHF, LGF, and Ulendo. The meeting focused on promoting good governance, raising awareness about proportionally represented seats, and encouraging peaceful participation by rejecting all forms of violence.
This activity was made possible with support from Diakonia, whose commitment to strengthening democratic participation and civic engagement continues to empower communities.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and actively contributed to the discussion. Together, we can build a peaceful, inclusive, and democratic community where every voice matters and every vote counts.

It's simply an appreciation of a woman who speaks with confidence, courage, and conviction. Young people can be inspired by anyone who stands up for what they believe in with respect and integrity. Fearless leadership is worth admiring. Keep shining, Esther Anthony Banda

This morning, Young development health focus, FDI, Visionary Women Initiatives, and fellow members of the Chipata Hub comprising local CSOs and community influencers were honored to host a delegation from the British High Commission - Lusaka
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the progress and impact of the Diakonia supported project through the FCDO. We shared how partner CSOs are working collaboratively to advocate against injustices, promote good governance, and raise awareness on key governance issues within our communities.
We are grateful for the visit, continued partnership, and support in strengthening citizen participation and advancing accountable governance in Zambia.

Early marriage is the practice of marrying before the age of 18. It can have serious effects on a person's education, health, and mental well-being. Many children, especially girls, are forced to leave school and take on adult responsibilities before they are ready. This can lead to stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and low self-esteem. Early marriage may also expose young people to domestic violence and financial difficulties, making mental health problems even worse. Poverty, cultural traditions, and lack of education are common causes of early marriage. Governments, communities, and families should work together to end this practice by promoting education, enforcing laws, and raising awareness about children's rights. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, stay mentally healthy, and choose when to marry.
