🚨 Manchester City have published an official statement on the club’s website in the form of a direct letter from chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak:

“I have been part of this club for 18 years, and it has been a great privilege to stand alongside you at the Etihad, at Wembley and in Istanbul.

This club means a great deal to me, and you have shown me and told me time and again just how much Manchester City means to you. That is why I am writing to you today.

Following the media reports on Friday, many of you will probably have spent the evening answering questions and replying to messages from friends, family and colleagues — just as I did.

And this is what I told my family:

The Premier League process still has a long way to go, and our belief and determination to prove the club’s innocence remain as strong as they were on the day this matter began.

There are many things I wish I could tell you to help explain why we remain so confident in our position. However, because of the strict confidentiality requirements surrounding the legal process, and our commitment to respecting that process, I am not currently able to disclose those details.

Even this letter has had to go through several stages of legal review to ensure that its contents comply with the relevant requirements.

I ask you to read carefully the statement below, which we issued on Friday, as well as the statement we issued in February 2023, which is also included below.

Every word matters, and every word continues to represent our position.

While some have rushed to draw their own conclusions and many voices are being heard around us, nothing has changed.

We have faced challenges together before, and we have come through them.

There are many people who would like to disrupt the momentum of this club, but we will not give them that opportunity.

We still have exciting moments ahead of us after the international break.

In two weeks’ time, we will travel to Anfield, before returning home to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium.

These moments will give us the opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak
Chairman
Manchester City Football Club

Club Statement — Friday, 25 September 2026

The Premier League process remains ongoing, with several important stages still to be completed, all of which remain subject to strict confidentiality requirements.

Therefore, Manchester City’s position remains unchanged from the club statement issued in February 2023.

The club has fully respected the judicial process throughout the past eight years, based on the belief that the independent commission and the Premier League executive will act as an independent, impartial and fair regulatory body, free from influence by any party.

Club Statement — February 2023

Manchester City Football Club is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the club has provided to the Premier League.

The club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position.

As such, we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.”

🚨🇸🇪 Zlatan Ibrahimović on Premier League clubs celebrating Manchester City’s 115 charges:

🗣️ Zlatan: “I don’t blame them for celebrating these charges. (laughs) We are talking about a club that has traumatized almost every other club in this league for years. Pep came to the Premier League hearing everyone say it’s the most difficult league in the world, then he came and farmed the league like it was a Division Two league.

“He exposed them. He dominated them for years. So if they can’t win against Manchester City on the pitch, I understand why they are celebrating what is happening off it.

“But now they talk as if these charges were the reason Manchester City dominated. Like that was the main tactic City came with onto the pitch. Forgetting the beautiful football they played, how they controlled games and how they actually won those trophies.

“You can celebrate the charges, you can talk about them, you can wait for the verdict. But don’t rewrite football history. Manchester City dominated on the pitch. That is why they won all those trophies.”

Today, I take a moment to honour you
Daniel Munkhombwe
not merely for what you have accomplished, but for the sacrifices, dedication, and unwavering commitment that have brought you this far. I have watched you give your time, energy, strength, and even your personal comfort to the work of God, and I want you to know that your labour has never gone unnoticed.
We did not meet yesterday. We grew up together. We have journeyed through different seasons of life, witnessed one another's struggles and victories, and watched God gradually shape our lives into something greater than we could have imagined when we were younger.
Seeing you devote yourself so wholeheartedly to God's work fills my heart with profound admiration. You have sacrificed precious time, placed service before convenience, and continued to labour even when recognition was not guaranteed. That kind of commitment speaks louder than words.
I sincerely thank God for the grace that has carried us, for the doors He has opened, and for allowing us to witness the fruits of our perseverance. What we have today is not merely the product of chance; it is a testimony of grace, endurance, sacrifice, and divine timing.
My brother, may God continue to honour the work of your hands. May every sacrifice you have made for His Kingdom return to you in ways beyond your expectations. May He replenish your strength when you are weary, enlarge your territory, elevate your influence, and grant you wisdom to continue serving with humility and excellence.
I am proud of the man you have become, grateful for the journey we have shared, and deeply thankful to God for the privilege of calling you my friend and brother.
Keep serving. Keep believing. Keep building. Keep giving your best.
The seeds you are planting today will speak for you tomorrow.
May your life forever remain a testimony that when a person gives themselves wholeheartedly to God's purpose, heaven never forgets the sacrifice.
With immense honour, love, and brotherly respect. ❤️🙏🏽
