This post is so much more than !

I never spoke or put much thought in this, guess I had happily escaped the stigma of being dark skinned throughout life. Maybe I speak about this today, as the issue has hit close to home!

Today, as I gather my wits in order to speak, to express, to convey, my thoughts are only for my daughter and the innumerable daughters of a prejudiced world.

While some may regard this as another tale backlashing artificial beauty standards (given that I also work in the beauty industry) the reality is that colorism is pervasive!

Educated, contemporary, career-oriented women - who endure horrific, terrible things behind closed doors, some of whom have spoken out, others who have remained silent, or can’t.
