I dedicate a significant part of my theoretical training to advanced color theory for dark lip neutralization, because when working with deeply pigmented lips, basic color theory is simply not enough.Dark lips are never just “brown” or “dark.” Before choosing a pigment, we need to analyze the color on several different levels. This is why during my theoretical lessons we study in detail:
• Hue — what the actual dominant color is and which undertones are present: brown, grey, blue, violet, red, etc.
• Value / Lightness — how light or dark the natural lip pigmentation is. Two lips can have the same undertone but require completely different approaches depending on their depth.
• Saturation / Chroma — how intense or muted the pigmentation is. Highly saturated dark pigmentation behaves very differently from soft, greyish or muted pigmentation.
• Temperature — whether the pigmentation is predominantly warm, cool or neutral, and how this influences the choice of neutralizing pigments.
• Undertone combinations — because in many cases several undertones exist simultaneously and can also vary between different areas of the lips.
We also study how these characteristics interact with each other. It is not enough to see a cool tone and simply add a warm pigment. You need to understand its depth, saturation and dominant hue, because all of these factors influence how the implanted pigment will interact with the natural pigmentation and how the color will heal.
This is especially important with dark lips because we are working with two color systems at the same time: the existing natural pigmentation and the pigment we introduce into the skin. The final healed result is influenced by both.
That is why I don’t teach my students to memorize formulas such as “for this type of lips, use this pigment.” I teach them to read and analyze color.

Here, the client had light pigmentation on the lower lip, while the upper lip was lacking color, so using my technique we restored the lip color as close as possible to his natural shade. Please don’t confuse this with the technique used for women , natural color restoration for men is a completely different approach, and the techniques used are not the 💕.

These lips are immediately after the touch-up procedure. You can also see the “before” lips in the second-to-last post, as well as the fully healed result before the touch-up in my feed. The color intensity and slight swelling will fade within just a few hours. 💋

During the first session, we performed a neutralization procedure to lighten and correct the dark pigmentation of the lips. During the second session, we proceeded with the color application. At the client’s request, a brighter and redder lip shade was chosen to achieve a more vibrant result.❤️🔥
