The Trojan Horse,The Trick That Changed History

Around 1250 BCE, according to the ancient tradition surrounding the Trojan War, the Greeks had spent nearly 10 years trying to defeat the city of Troy.

They had fought battles, lost soldiers, and failed to break through Troy’s legendary defenses.

Then came a strange discovery.

The Greeks appeared to sail away, leaving behind a massive wooden horse.

The Trojans believed the war was finally over. Despite warnings from those who suspected a trap, they brought the enormous horse inside the city walls as a supposed offering.

Three Jockeys Hospitalised After Runner at Churchill Downs Suffers Fatal Injury

A terrifying incident at Churchill Downs on Saturday night left the racing community shaken after a horse suffered a fatal injury and three jockeys were taken to hospital.

During a 6½-furlong maiden race, Lutkenhaus suffered a fatal leg injury on the far turn while racing in second. The incident triggered a chain reaction, with five other horses and their riders becoming caught up in the fall.

Only four horses managed to complete the race. Although odds-on favourite Vukota crossed the finish line first, officials declared the race void as medical teams and veterinarians rushed onto the track.

Jockeys Cristian Torres, Walter Rodriguez and Martin Garcia were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for further assessment. Thankfully, Torres later confirmed that his scans showed no broken bones, although he was left sore after the fall.

Several horses also suffered injuries, including Industrious, Shacklebolt, Steve Wood and Ritornello.

The race was delayed for 34 minutes before racing resumed.
