Bengaluru is adding ~190K new Core Middle+ consumers every year (avg. 2023–2026), more than Munich, Chicago, Lagos, and Guadalajara combined (~147K).

It's a reminder that the map of consumer growth doesn't follow the map of established markets.

For anyone deciding where to launch, expand or invest, the question isn't just "how big is this market today?", it's "where is the next wave of consumers actually being created?"

You can explore insights like this- new consumer class growth, spending power, and demographic shifts, city by city- in our World Data Intelligence demo: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0x5FjS0

Spain are world champions. 🇪🇸 A 1–0 win over Argentina in New York/New Jersey seals it.

Spanish consumers spend $1.21 trillion a year (PPP) versus Argentina's $784.5 billion. Per person it's $25,497 to $16,956. And on sport and recreation specifically, Spain puts in $92.3B a year against Argentina's $53.3B.

Adults 60+ are 15% of the world's population. They account for 26% of global consumer spending, $18.7 trillion today.
By 2036, that gap widens: 18% of people, 30% of spending, $34.2 trillion.

No other age group is growing its spending power this fast.

India's recreation & culture spending is growing at 15.3% CAGR (2023–2026), more than double the US's 6.4%, and nearly three times Germany's 5.3%. Despite that growth, the category still makes up just 1.2% of Indian consumer budgets in 2026, compared with 10.3% in the US and 9.8% in Germany.

A city's population tells you how big it is. It doesn't tell you which of your products it's actually ready to buy.

Take New Delhi: roughly 21M consumers have crossed the affordability threshold for everyday digital payments, but only about 4M have reached the threshold for luxury jewelry. Same city, two completely different addressable markets.

That's the shift WDL's data points to for market entry: sequence your launch by affordability threshold, not headline population.

⚽ The World Cup is down to 8 teams. Rank them by football instead of finance, and the podium looks completely different.

Argentina sits #1 in the FIFA rankings, but #65 in per capita consumer spending. England is the reverse story: #4 on the pitch, but #16 in spend, punching above its economic weight in the rankings. Morocco's historic run to the quarterfinals came from #129 in spend, the lowest of any team left standing.
Football glory and economic power don't always move together.

A #8 vs #1 FIFA ranking gap. A $1.5T consumer spending gap. France beat Morocco 2-0 in Boston.

Off the pitch, the gap is wider: $1.76T in annual consumer spending vs $222.1B, and $26,948 per capita vs $5,729.

Morocco counts 15.8M of its 38.8M population as consumers. France's entire 65.2M already are.

Find Your Market With Better Data - DDDM FM e56 - Katharina Fenz 07/07/2026

Our Deputy VP of Data, Katharina Fenz, joined the DDDM FM podcast to talk about a problem every global business faces: how do you trust data across 190+ countries when surveys are outdated, inconsistent, or just wrong?

She breaks down how we correct for underreporting among wealthy households, use a Nature-published "nearest neighbor" method to fill data gaps, and blend old surveys with macro forecasts to build datasets that look forward, not backward.

Her insight: "Outdated data doesn't really help. Who wants to know how the landscape looked 10 years ago?"
