One thing I’m really passionate about is education 🤍

I’ve been doing hair extensions for over 10 years now, whether that was tapes (which I no longer offer) or wefts.

If I still had photos from when I first started, I’d happily share them with you. Back then we didn’t take photos of every install like we do today, and honestly, they would be a great reminder of just how far I’ve come.

The difference wasn’t experience alone. It was education.

Workshops, online training, practising on mannequins, learning from educators and other artists I admire, asking questions and constantly refining my techniques.

The truth is, none of us start out perfect.
And even now, after all these years, I’m still learning. I still make mistakes. But I will always take responsibility, learn from them and continue investing in my education so I can provide the best possible service for my clients.

This post isn’t about criticising another stylist. It’s about education, awareness and protecting hair health.

If your extensions are painful, feel too tight or simply don’t feel right, please don’t ignore it.
Hair extensions should feel secure and comfortable, not painful.

As an industry, we should never stop learning, growing and supporting one another.

Introducing our new apprentice… Jett 🤍🐾

9 weeks old, full of attitude, cuddles and already taking his new role very seriously.

While nobody will ever replace our beautiful boy Axle, bringing Jett home has felt extra special.

He already has so many little similarities to him — the same gentle nature, watchful eyes and calm presence we all loved so much.

It feels a little bit like a piece of Axle found its way back to us 🤍

welcome Jett you have big shoes to fill and grow into. Our new apprentice in training, cuddle supervisor and future salon security.
Anyone else remember how good axle was at that role 🤪🙈

We’ve made a little fairy garden for our beautiful boy Axle 🤍

He is next to the kids playground. A special place for us to visit, remember him and keep him close.

Today is for all mums and mother figures.

The mums doing their best every day, those missing their mums, mums with babies in their hearts, fur baby mums, and the women who love, nurture and show up for others in so many ways.

Our sweet boy Axle 🌙🤍

Last night we said goodbye to our beautiful family dog, Axle.

For the last 12 years, he has been such a huge part of our family, home and salon. Many of my clients would know him as my little salon supervisor — always greeting everyone at the door, sitting beside clients, or snoozing in his bed next to my desk.

But to us, he was so much more.

Axle was the gentlest, sweetest soul and fiercely protective of our family. He watched over our girls from the day they were born, always seeming to know when something wasn’t right and waking us whenever we needed him.

He slept beside us, watched over the kids, and loved us so deeply.

He truly was our protector, our comfort, our shadow, and the biggest part of our everyday life.

Thank you to everyone who loved him over the years and gave him pats, cuddles, snacks and attention when visiting the salon.

Our home feels a little quieter without you, Axle.
Forever loved. Forever missed. 🤍

This week I had the loveliest client who was over her old colour and extensions come in wanting to return to her natural colour and embrace her beautiful, effortless waves instead of having straight extensions.

Challenge accepted 💪🏼

🌿 Full head of compact foils using to remove old colour

🌿 Light cleanse through the ends to gently lift while keeping her hair healthy and strong

🌿 Finished with one row of deep wave extensions (60g) to enhance her natural texture and add a little extra fullness through the ends

Sam wanted lighter pieces with depth to really make her colour pop — so we:

💫 Re-lifted her two rows for added length + volume

💫 Added a half head of teasy foils to brighten everything up

💫 Finished with a zone toner to soften her root and keep that blonde looking fresh and seamless
