Are you ready to bowl at your best this season? 🏏

πŸ”„ Rotational strength & power
πŸ’ͺ Shoulder strength & stability
πŸ”— Posterior-chain strength
⚑ Explosive full-body power

Building strength in these areas can help you develop the physical capacity needed to handle the demands of bowling throughout the season.

Experiencing Achilles or Heel Pain? 🦢

Achilles tendinopathy and Achilles enthesopathy aren’t quite the same.

πŸ”Ή Achilles tendinopathy affects the Achilles tendon itself
πŸ”Ή Achilles enthesopathy affects the point where the tendon attaches to the heel bone

While they affect different areas, both can improve with appropriate loading, strengthening and a tailored rehabilitation program guided by your Physiotherapist.

Experiencing Achilles or heel pain? Book an assessment with our PhysioWorks team to get started.

Cracking game boys!

Your eyes aren't playing tricks, we fought it out last night winning 8-7 in extra time!

Our lads showed so much heart, bouncing back from 2-0 to level at 2-2, then again from 4-2 to a last-minute 4-4 equalizer! Extra time was a nail-biting showdown, with the lead seesawing until we clinched it at 8-7!!! The goals were scored by Michael, Luke, Zach, Brayden and Nick. This squad's grit is second to none. We're pumped and ready to take on the next challenge in the cup.

It was wonderful to meet the determined and delightful MSM runners the other morning. Thanks for having us along!

CaSSSA CROSS COUNTRY | Our cross country team was privileged to attend a bonus training session with a visit from Alex from PhysioWorks at Ashgrove. They were reminded about the importance of managing their training loads, injury prevention and early injury intervention. A timely reminder about the importance of quality sleep, fuelling their bodies adequately with food and being aware of the impact the training has on their mind and bodies in a positive way. Every student who attended enjoyed the opportunity and valued the reminders as they embark on their short but intense cross country season in preparation for CaSSSA Cup. Thanks Alex for giving up your time to present to our team.

Why almost everything you thought about running is wrong 11/12/2019

Some good insight into running technique!

Why almost everything you thought about running is wrong Running is one of the most basic and natural forms of human movement but while almost all of us can run, not everyone is doing it well.

It's our birthday! 5 years ago today we opened our doors, and joined the marvellous Ashgrove community.

A massive thank you to all of our great staff both past and present, who always go above and beyond, and of course to the wonderful community that supports us. You help make our work anything but, and we take great responsibility for the care that you have trusted in us.

We are having a small breakfast celebration in the clinic 8.30-9.30am tomorrow (April 1st, but not April Fools...), with refreshments through the day. We hope to see you there!

NOTICE: Construction work is underway next door to our Ashgrove Physioworks clinic. We apologize for any inconvenience the noise may cause, and advise you to allow yourself a little extra time to park as the clinic parks out front are occupied. Parking underneath the clinic and on street is still available.
