I have been talking to a lot of clients lately and others in the industry about how time consuming social media is and really as a business owner, it’s drowning me and many others.

I started this business many years ago with a paper appointment book and word of mouth - maybe the odd letter box drop here and there - now it’s all about social media and having to consistently post just to show up and be seen - it’s seriously draining!

I think back to the ‘good old days’ where really it was word of mouth that made the business grow. I remember my first few weeks in the salon where I may have had one client a day and it slowly built over time into being so busy and giving so much of my spare time to clients and work. I don’t ever regret putting in the hours, the late nights and the long weekends but the only time you will find me doing hours like that now is the week of Christmas 🤭 and even that I have learnt to set a finish time and stick to it!

I have an incredible team behind me and we have honestly some amazing clients, it’s so funny to think many of you heard about us from someone, came in as a stranger and now we call you our friends! How lucky are we!

Anyway - this is just me saying thank you to everyone! We do love you all and you honestly make showing up each day easy! We love what we do and we are blessed we get to do it with you all!

However………….. I know we slack off social media sometimes……. Maybe give us a kick up the bum and remind us to take the photos and videos 😂🤭😂

It’s really one of the most common things we hear when clients come from another salon is that they can’t get their lashes wet.

As a lash tech for a good 20 years this drives me mad! Yes ‘back in the day’ we were told that you couldn’t get them wet for 24-48 hours but now days with good quality glue this is simply not the case!

Finishing your last set with a cleanse and water is key to our clients not sitting up after a lash set with the burning that once used to be (if you know - you know!) and the water actually helps to finalize the last stage of the glue as it cures - so if we wet them - why can’t you???

It is key to a healthy lash set that actually lasts that you wash your lashes properly each and every night! I’m sick of hearing clients say “but my lash lady told me not to get them wet!” If that is the case then you need to RUN!!! Can you even image all the gunk build up they would get if you don’t!!!! And I don’t mean just splash your face in the shower, they need to be washed and cleansed just as important as washing your face is!

You don’t sleep in your makeup - so why should your lashes!!!!
