✨ WHY AM I BREAKING OUT AFTER A FACIAL?! ✨

Had a facial and suddenly noticed a few unwanted visitors popping up? 😩 Don’t panic — sometimes your skin is simply responding to the treatment.

Most professional facials include some form of exfoliation, which helps remove dead skin cells and encourages fresh, healthy-looking skin to come through.

But here’s the interesting part… 👀

A breakout doesn’t always appear overnight. Some clogged pores and blemishes can already be developing beneath the surface before you can even see them.

When we exfoliate and speed up the skin’s natural renewal process, those hidden blockages may come to the surface sooner — and sometimes a few decide to arrive all at once! 😅

This is often referred to as “purging.”

Think of it as your skin going through a little clear-out 🧹✨

This is also why home care between professional treatments is so important. Using the right exfoliating product or retinoid when suitable for your skin can help keep cell turnover consistent and reduce congestion between appointments.

So if a few little spots appear after your facial, don’t automatically assume the treatment has made your skin worse. Your skin may simply be working through congestion that was already brewing underneath.
