Having worked in the beauty industry for over a decade I was truly excited about discovering Arbonne - a brand that has a beautiful philosophy and supports a greener future and is all about empowering people to be the best versions of themselves. Arbonne allows me to work from home (or the beach, or the park!) and really be there for my 2 gorgeous girls and see them grow up. I love that through my

Wishing you all a joyful New Year beautiful people. I don't really do resolutions but these two posts doing the rounds sum up what I've been focusing on this past year or so and what I'll continue to focus on.
My word for 2021 was 'joy' and as I look back at photos and moments I'm so grateful for all the joy scattered throughout a year that also had its fair share of loss, sadness, distance, frustration and disconnect... those moments shone bright like sparkly stars on a dark night. We can only really know light because we also know the dark. So I will continue to seek, create and experience joy and wonder this year.
My word for 2022 just popped into my head then... 'open'. To stay open to new experiences & opportunities, new concepts & ideas, learning the lessons in store with grace, open to knowing myself at an even deeper level; and to stay open to receiving love, joy, abundance, friendships and all the gifts and treasures this life has in store for us.
May this year be good to you and your loved ones. May it be everything you wish it to be and then some. May you experience joy, love, kindness and compassion on the daily and let's all make it our mission to give the same in return 💕✌🏼🎉

So you really want to wear a bold red lip but you’re scared because you’ve been told you can’t ‘pull off a particular shade’ or to ‘stay away from too blue/too orange/too pink’. Says who?!
Stop worrying about what shade will suit you best. Stop worrying about who will be judging you. Stop worrying if it will draw too much attention. Stop worrying about the opinion of others. Full stop. Makeup Confidence comes from choosing colours from a place of joy. It comes from fully owning what you choose. Get behind your own makeup choices and go for it. 💄💋🥰
Tip: give yourself time and space to get used to seeing yourself with colour. Kind of like wearing in shoes or new jeans. Work your way up to the full colour by starting w just a hint of colour and adding bit more every few days.

C’mon now, what do you mean you haven’t joined my makeup confidence masterclass yet? DM me right now if you feel confused about how to apply your makeup, if you don’t know what to do with all those products in your drawer and if you really want to walk out of the door and feel super confident with the look you’ve created. The masterclass is free and it’s online so no need to go anywhere. You can rock up in your pjs with your favourite snacks and a vino. You can join the live sessions for immediate answers to your most pressing concerns or watch the replays in your own time and then leave questions or comments that I’ll answer you during the week by way of little videos. My aim is to always make my classes fun and engaging and with a tonne of extra info so your toolkit is busting and you’re ready to strut. We start tonight with a little challenge to get women thinking about their approach to and beliefs about makeup. DM me for the link to the private group. 💋💋💋

It’s been a while between masterclasses but as promised, I am running another makeup masterclass this coming weekend. The focus will be confidence so that you feel empowered and confident whether you use 2 products or 20. It is within a private facebook group so if you can’t join live you can catch the replay in your own time. Any Qs ~ pop them in the comments below or DM me. Anyone who wants to feel more confident in doing their makeup is welcome to join us and it is not just for Aussies.

I looove makeup-free days. But something I take for granted is that it also feels really good to be able to apply a full face of makeup with confidence. And to not be wondering if I’m doing it right? Will it stay on? Does this suit me? Did I just age myself 10yrs? 🤷🏼♀️ {feel free to insert your own itty-bitty-sh*tty-committee comments & critique here} 🗣🗣🗣
I’ve decided to run another makeup confidence workshop in May so you can also do your makeup with confidence and know-how.
Comment or DM if you’re keen. I’ll share more details soon. 💄💕

Celebratory dinner tonight to celebrate us gals. Which of course includes Ollie.
Grateful for incredible women past, present and future fighting for us, demanding a safer, more equal tomorrow.
Grateful for incredible women in my life that inspire me to no end, believe in me and challenge me to keep expanding. Who make me laugh. Who keep showing up. Who love unconditionally.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” ~ Maya Angelou
Imagine a world where all women thrive.

What happened to The Made Up Mum? A couple of peeps reached out wanting to know why I changed my insta handle. In short, I felt it boxed me in and as an Aquarius desperately seeking freedom (always and in eveything) it became a bit stifling to feel that I would only be known as the ‘makeup woman’. Especially when I feel that what I do and want to do more of, goes way beyond the aesthetics of makeup, but rather helping women truly love who they are underneath it all. Helping women to say ‘fu*k it’ to all the societal norms forced upon us, to all the limiting beliefs that has us believing that in order to be beautiful (something of worth) we need to wear a mask and change so much about who we naturally are.
I also found that quite a few people were confused by the name. Was it about makeup? Motherhood? Making up motherhood as I went along? Makeup only for mums?
I still have my Arbonne business and will continue to teach/share what I know and love about makeup, ingredients and the whole kit&kaboodle as mentioned above while also exploring other interests and callings. Such as... I’m writing a children’s book! Eeek! Will share more on that in due course.
The funny/sad thing is that for the longest time the name didn’t resonate with me at my core and yet, because so many people loved it and came to know me as TMUM I kept it and secretly resented it. Moral of the story... trust your gut, go with what makes your heart sing even if it makes no sense to anyone else and have the courage to follow those nudges/callings even when they go against the grain. ✌🏼
PS. I will keep my FB page as The Made Up Mum and endeavour to share more about makeup-y stuff on there while my insta page will be more of a visual diary of sorts where I share the things that bring me joy, new discoveries, passions and learnings as I peel back more layers and dig a bit deeper.

Every day facebook memories surprises me with either a cringe-fest or a cuteness-fest. These days the cringe-y stuff just make me laugh tbh because I’ve learned to have a bit of compassion for myself and also forgive myself for the questionable posts from my past. 😂 NLP teaches us that everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have available to them. So I have come to look at facebook as a beautiful timeline of growth - my personal/emotional growth, as well as the growth of my little loves who are obviously the cuteness-fest.
How you feel about the memories that pop up?
Yesterday I was sitting in a bit of a meh-space after scrolling through insta. While I have chosen to intentionally follow people and pages who inspire me, challenge me emotionally and intellectually, who teach me and add value, sometimes that can be quite heavy too because it can be so confronting. Some topics include racism, abuse, inequality, trafficking and more and while I believe it is really important to witness that and not ignore it because it feels uncomfortable, sometimes it gets the fire going in your belly and other times it can leave you a bit deflated. But I remembered a post by the wonderful on his FB page and thought I’d share in case it gives you a little glimmer of hope too or simply helps to put things into perspective on those ick days.
I will add here that Neale also stressed that none of this excuses or condones evil/appalling behaviour, but it does go a way in explaining those behaviours.
The book he quoted from is: New World, New Mind by Robert Ornstein & Paul Ehrlich.
Have you read the book? How do you pull yourself out of that space/state of dispair and heaviness?
